India vs England: Virender Sehwag doubtful for the first test
The selection of the 15-member test squad for the tour of England is set to take place this afternoon and the squad will be announced soon. Virender Sehwag, who missed the latter part of the Indian Premier League and full of the West Indies tour, is a doubtful starter for the first test against England.
It will be a clash of the titans as two of the top teams, India and England, are set to compete for their place in the world. The series is set to comprise of four tests, five ODIs and a T20 game. With the talks of dominating the world notwithstanding, the series will provide answers for several questions including the quest for the top spot in the longest format of the game.
Having fielded a half-strength squad against the West Indies, it will come as welcome news for Team India that Gautam Gambhir and Zaheer Khan are fully fit. It will be a major blow however, if Sehwag misses out the first test due to injury reasons. In case he hasn’t announced his recovery, it is expected that Murali Vijay or Abhinav Mukund will be penciled in as replacements in the squad.
