IND vs SA T20 World Cup - 2009

In a low-scoring group-stage encounter at Nottingham, South Africa achieved their only win against India in a T20 World Cup. After electing to bat first, they posted 130/5 on the board thanks to AB de Villiers’ 63 off 51 balls. Even though the innings seemed to be slow, it was crucial in the context of the game. India used as many as 8 bowlers with none of them picking 2 wickets. India looked on the right track with the openers Gautam Gambhir and Rohit Sharma scoring 48 runs in just 6.2 overs. However, they lost half the side in the next 21 runs and never recovered. India were restricted to 118/8 as Johan Botha and Dale Steyn took 3 and 2 wickets each.
