West Indies, the defending World T20 Champions will take on a World X1 side in a fundraiser T20 match at the Lords Cricket ground on May 31st, 2018.

If this concept is extended to the Indian Premier League, then the 2017 IPL champions, Mumbai Indians would probably take on an IPL X1 side, consisting of the best players of the seven other sides.

Let's have a look at how the IPL X1 would turn out if the match was to happen.

Openers: Shikhar Dhawan(KX1P) and David Warner(SRH)

These two form a potent combination at the top

Warner has been one of the most successful openers in IPL and was also the Orange cap holder in 2017. He has been the most important player for the Sunrisers and has almost single-handedly taken the team to a number of victories.

Warner's explosiveness at the top is one asset which any team would wish to have. His opening partner, Shikhar Dhawan also finds a place in this team thanks to his recent run, which has been impressive, to say the least.

Dhawan has had an amazing run in the last two IPLs and has been a pillar of strength for the Hyderabad team. He scored 501 runs in the 2016 IPL which helped his team win the league that year. He backed it up with 479 runs last year which had prompted the Sunrisers Hyderabad management to use the Right to Match card for him in the 2018 IPL Auction.

Middle Order: Suresh Raina(CSK), Virat Kohli(RCB), AB DeVilliers(RCB)

Kohli and DeVilliers would find a place in any T20 team

Suresh Raina has played at the number 3 position for all his teams and has been given that spot in the Indian team as well. He has been the most successful player in the history of IPL and is having a good run off late as well.

Virat Kohli is an automatic choice for any team in any format. He would be placed at the number 4 spot as he himself has preferred to give the number 3 spot to Raina. Kohli is the most important player in the team and is a player who can win a match on his own.

AB de Villiers is an explosive batsman and is a definite pick in any IPL side. On his day, he can demolish the opposition and single-handedly win the match for his team. At no. 5, de Villiers can play both, the role of a finisher as well the role of a sheet anchor, depending on the situation.

WicketKeeper & All Rounder: MS Dhoni(CSK) & Ben Stokes (RR)

Both Dhoni and Stokes played for Pune last year

MS Dhoni can walk into any team on the back of his impressive performances over the years. His experience is an invaluable asset to all the sides and he is also by far, the best wicket-keeper in world cricket at the moment.

The former Indian captain, at number 6 would play the role of finisher, a role which he has played throughout his career with perfection.

Ben Stokes would be the all-rounder in the team, who would play the role of a finisher, along with bowling 4 overs for the team

Stokes is, by far, the most destructive all-rounder in the shorter formats of the game. He was bought by the Rajasthan Royals for a whopping price of Rs 12.5 Crores. He was the biggest impact player in the Pune side last year and was instrumental in taking his side to the finals.

Spinners: Yuzvendra Chahal (RCB), Kuldeep Yadav (KKR)
