Mumbai Indians has given team India a lot of young, world-class players, including the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and the recent T20I debutant, Krunal Pandya. Hence, it's crucial to keep an eye on the lesser-known Mumbai Indians players on how they fare in the domestic competitions.

In the 2018-19 Vijay Hazare Trophy and Deodhar Trophy, a few of the Mumbai Indian players have performed exceeding well with some match-winning performances.

The likes of Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, and Mayank Markande are not included in the list, although they are uncapped, because of the fact that they have become an integral part of the Mumbai Indian team in the past season of the IPL.

Here's a list of three lesser known and uncapped Mumbai Indians players who should be given a chance to perform in IPL 2019 on the basis of their recent run of form.

#3 Anmolpreet Singh

The 20-year-old batsman from Punjab has been bought by the Mumbai Indians at the December 18 auctions for ₹80 lakhs.

He has been a steal for MI, at such a low price, if his form in the 2018-19 season is taken into account. He got limited opportunities in the Vijay Hazare trophy but he capitalized on them to the fullest as he scored 314 runs in 3 matches at an astounding average of 104.66, including two centuries.

His match-winning knock of 71, for India A, against a bowling attack comprising of New Zealand international bowlers the likes of Hamish Bennett, Doug Bracewell, James Neesham and Lockie Ferguson, and that too in New Zealand is a testament of his skills and what he can offer to the side.

#2 Anukul Roy

Being the joint-highest wicket-taker (14 wickets) at the ICC U-19 World Cup 2018, this slow left-arm orthodox bowling all-rounder was on every team's radar at the 2018 auction, but Mumbai Indians managed to lap him into their squad at a price of 20 lakhs.

Anukul has performed terrifically for his home state, Jharkhand in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy. His performances, especially his 4-for against Maharashtra in the quarterfinal, were crucial in Jharkhand making it to the semi-finals this year. He took a total of 15 wickets at an economy rate of 4.21 in the competition.

He is handy with the bat too and has an average of 39.57 and a strike rate of 118 in his List A career.

Yet to make his IPL debut, Anukul could be a like-for-like replacement for Krunal Pandya in the Mumbai Indians side or could be drafted into the side solely as a bowler if Mayank Markande fails to get going.

At just 19, this youngster, if groomed properly, can be a future IPL and even Team India star.

#1 Rahul Chahar

Rahul is the only one in the list to have made his IPL debut (with the Rising Pune Supergiants in IPL 2017) but still has to feature in a match for the Mumbai Indians.

Cricket runs in the family as his elder brother, Deepak Chahar was a key part of the reigning IPL champions, CSK's trophy-winning team.

Rahul's performance in the recently concluded Vijay Hazare trophy for his home team, Rajasthan would surely make his case for a place in the MI starting lineup. He was the third highest wicket-taker in the competition with 20 wickets at an economy of 4.28, and a best of 5/29 against the Services.

His leg-spinning abilities and variations make him tough to read, and hence if given adequate opportunities he may prove vital for Mumbai's fortunes.

Although he is in direct competition with Mayank Markande for the position in the side, he stands a very good chance of making his debut for MI in IPL 2019 on his current form.
