Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers brought jubilation to the RCB camp after playing instrumental knocks to help their team win the first game of this season. While the skipper scored 67 from 53 balls in an innings that included 8 fours, the South African was unbeaten on 59 off 38 balls which included 5 fours and 2 sixes.

Marcus Stoinis finished the match with a quick fire 28 runs towards the end before joy erupted in the RCB dug-out. The players were all relieved and thoroughly enjoyed this victory which came after a long time.

After the match, Virat and ABD were all smiles and gave an interview together to share the secret of their success.

Royal Challengers Bangalore lost six games on the trot this season and one more loss would have landed them up an embarrassing record of losing 7 consecutive matches at the start if the season.

Thus, it was a crucial fixture for the Bangalore based franchise. In this match, the spinners - Yuzvendra Chahal and Moeen Ali bowled really well and helped restrict the home team to a less than par score in the first innings.
