The Delhi Capitals will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Vishakhapatnam on May 8th for the Eliminator, match 58 of Vivo IPL 2019.

The Capitals finished 3rd on the points table with 18 points narrowly, missing out on the first two spots due to their inferior NRR.

SRH, meanwhile became the first team to make it to the playoffs with just 12 points as they trumped KKR and KXIP by virtue of their high Net Run Rate.

This is one of the most thrilling encounters and key fixtures in the IPL as the winner of this game will advance to Qualifier 2 and square off against the loser of Qualifier 1, while the loser will be knocked out of the tournament.

Both these sides are young and have enigmatic leaders who are in good nick and both have lost their star players in this key stage of the tournament.

Now, let's take a look at who has the upper hand in this crunch encounter.

If DC bat first

The Delhi Capitals have one of the best top orders in the entire league which has done a decent job until now. They will however have to be at their best as they take on SRH on a decent batting surface here in Vizag. Prithvi Shaw needs to avoid getting out early while Shikhar Dhawan must neutralize the threat posed by Mohammad Nabi.

Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant are more than capable of piling on the runs and with big hitters like Sherfane Rutherford to follow, Delhi can post a good total of 170-190 runs if they don't lose too many early wickets.

If SRH bat first

Sunrisers Hyderabad have 2 openers capable of providing a fiery start but they need to ensure that they don't lose their wickets in the process. Saha needs to step up and play an anchor role while Guptill needs to convert his starts into big scores. With Manish Pandey and skipper Kane Williamson in good nick, SRH can boss the middle overs and go big in the death.

They also have big hitters like Nabi, Vijay Shankar and Yusuf Pathan who can boost their total and if they have a good power play, they can make a total of 160-190 runs and defend it as well.

Who will win?

Delhi Capitals' winning momentum and dominant bowling display makes them look like the favorites. SRH, though are the stronger side with all-round strength and though they have lost a couple of games on the trot, they have the experience and a lot of match-winners in their ranks. The match will certainly be a close one but SRH seem to have more chances of winning.
