The Indian Premier League was initiated by the BCCI in 2008 with the aim of nurturing the young cricketing talent of the country in the best manner possible. The young players get a chance of playing together with the legends of the game and also receive training from the world's best coaches.

A host of players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah and many more have become household names thanks to the cash-rich league. The BCCI honors the best emerging player of the season with a trophy every year and Shubman Gill won that award in IPL 2019.

Prithvi Shaw played the role of an opener for Delhi Capitals in all the matches. The U-19 World Cup winning captain scored 353 runs for the Delhi franchise at a healthy strike rate of 133.71. He missed out on a century by just one run against Kolkata Knight Riders, apart from that, he even scored a memorable half ton in the Eliminator versus Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Shubman Gill, on the other hand, played the role of a flexible batsman in the Kolkata batting line-up. He played all the games for his franchise and aggregated 296 runs at an average of 32.88. The youngster slammed three half-centuries this season but that could not help his team reach the playoffs.

Middle Order - Riyan Parag, Sarfaraz Khan, and Nicholas Pooran

Riyan Parag was the lone bright spot in the dull Rajasthan Royals batting line-up as the youngster scored more runs than the likes of Rahul Tripathi, Ben Stokes, and Stuart Binny. Parag played maturely and finished IPL 2019 with an aggregate of 160 runs in 7 games. He even hit his maiden half-century in the league.

Sarfaraz Khan proved all his critics wrong by performing well for his new franchise Kings XI Punjab. After a dismal season for RCB last year, Khan bounced back by averaging 45 in this IPL season. His 180 runs in 5 innings helped him achieve huge praise in the cricketing circles.

Nicholas Pooran played flamboyantly for the Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2019 but unfortunately, his side failed to make it to the next stage. Pooran hit 168 runs in this season at an enthralling strike rate of 157. He even struck 10 fours and 14 sixes.

All-rounders - Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer

Rahul Tewatia was the most economical bowler in the entire Delhi Capitals side. The spin bowler had an economy rate of just 6.63 in the 5 matches he played. Also, he averaged 26.00 with the bat which made him a valuable all-rounder. Though Tewatia did not emerge as a complete match-winner, but he made sure he does his best whenever his team needs him.

Jofra Archer too played some handy knocks down the order for Rajasthan Royals along with delivering the goods with his fast bowling skills. Archer scored 67 runs in IPL 2019 at an average of 33.50 along with picking 11 wickets at a miserly economy rate of 6.76. His variations in the death overs had made life difficult even for the best hitters in the world.

Bowlers - Shreyas Gopal, Sandeep Lamichhane, Rahul Chahar and Khaleel Ahmed

Shreyas Gopal was the backbone of the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019. With 20 wickets in 14 games and a strike rate of 14.40, the leggie proved why he is the best uncapped bowler in the business.

Sandeep Lamichhane got to play only 6 matches in the season but the Nepalese spinner made the most out of the opportunity and picked 8 wickets. He had an expensive economy rate of 9.25 but his strike rate of 17.25 made up for it.

Rahul Chahar was another leg-spinner who came to the party in IPL 2019. He was lucky enough to win the trophy as well otherwise his tally of 13 wickets would have went in vain.

With 19 wickets in 9 matches, Khaleel Ahmed proved why he is so highly rated as T20 fast bowler. He overshadowed the likes of Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Siddharth Kaul and Sandeep Sharma at SRH to emerge as the best bowler of the team.
