The IPL auctions are not far away and most of the teams will be busy in strategizing for the event. Both the World Cup and the General Elections will have an impact on the tournament which could change the dynamics of the auctions.

Most of the teams would be ready with the list of their targets by now keeping in mind the circumstances prevailing around the event. On that note, we have compiled a list of one cricketer each team must sign if they have to become champions next year.

Mumbai Indians - Jaydev Unadkat

Mumbai Indians have won the IPL thrice and they would look to add to their tally next season. They had an ordinary IPL 2018 and therefore, some players have been released.

Mumbai Indians lack a quality Indian pacer to complement Jasprit Bumrah and Jaydev Unadkat will be a perfect addition to the team. He will form a potent partnership with Bumrah and can bowl at both ends of the innings. It could well be a season winning signing for MI.

Chennai Super Kings - Varun CV

IPL 2018 champions have a slot for three Indian players and they cannot buy any overseas cricketers. CSK is covered in all the departments. However, they would probably need additional pacers and spinner in the team. Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma may not fire as expected and hence, local player CV Varun could change the fortunes for CSK. He is a mystery bowler and could provide that cutting edge to CSK's bowling line-up.

Kolkata Knight Riders - Sam Curran

Sam Curran has made himself available for next IPL and he could be present for the entire tournament. His qualities are needed at a team like KKR who lack an overseas pacer. Sam Curran is a good left-arm bowler who can assure a few wickets.

He is young and more than useful batsman down the order. He can be a good investment for the future and could also turn KKR to champions next season.

Royal Challengers Bangalore - Hanuma Vihari

Although RCB has two of the greatest batsmen in Kohli and AB, they have suffered in the middle-order. RCB lacks a quality Indian batsman apart from Kohli and they have also let go of Sarfaraz and Mandeep. Hence, they would target a few Indian batsmen in the auctions.

Manoj Tiwary and Yuvraj Singh are available but RCB may look to sign Hanuma Vihari. Although he is a Test player, RCB will count on him to transform his game to suit the shortest format. He is a useful off-spinner and has an India career ahead of him. He could be the man who can help RCB get their maiden trophy.

Kings XI Punjab - Chris Woakes

Woakes would help both the departments in KXIP squad

KXIP had problems in their Middle-Order and Indian pace bowling department last season. They may give yet another chance to their Middle-Order which also has Mandeep Singh now. KXIP have Ankit Rajpoot and Tye who will be joined by other pacers in the auctions. However, they have no all-rounders in the team as they have released both Axar and Stoinis.

Hence, a player like Chris Woakes will be an asset to the team. He is probably the best overseas all-rounder in the auctions and could be a vital signing for KXIP to become IPL 2019 winners.

Delhi Capitals - Axar Patel

Delhi Capitals has one of the best teams ahead of the auctions. However, their spin department may have concerns after they released Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma. Mishra is not like his usual self and so, Delhi will target a spinner at the auctions.

They also need an Indian all-rounder and hence, Axar Patel will be a good option. He is a good fielder and has plenty of IPL experience which could help the team win their first ever trophy.

Sunrisers Hyderabad - Shimron Hetymer

Hetymer will offer more freedom to the top-order of SRH

Sunrisers Hyderabad possesses a squad which can do with not taking part in the auctions next week. However, Middle-Order has been an issue for them since the past few seasons. Yusuf Pathan's form is not known and Shakib may not be available for the entire tournament. Hence, Manish Pandey needs a suitable companion in the middle-order.

Shimron Hetymer could be the answer as the youngster has been in great form and done well on Indian pitches. SRH has a strong top-order and with a player like Hetymer batting below them, SRH could repeat the heroics of 2016 next year.

Rajasthan Royals - Shivam Dubey

If Shivam Dubey performs well, RR could be in for a big season

Rajasthan Royals have a strong core set of players and they will need some reinforcements in the bowling department. They have released Jaydev Unadkat and Ben Stokes' a availability is a concern.

Hence, rising all-rounder Shivam Dubey could be a good signing for RR. He will contribute in both departments of the game and has a great career ahead of him. He could give the much-needed balance to the squad and help them become champions next year.
