The 12th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League is done and dusted. Rohit Sharma's Mumbai Indians defeated MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings in the season finale to capture their 4th IPL trophy. This victory made Mumbai the first team to win four IPL seasons.

The fans witnessed enthralling games in this season with a lot of hard hitters making their presence felt. Many international stars left the tourney midway thanks to the upcoming World Cup but they made sure they leave their mark on the hearts of the fans with their performances.

As mentioned ahead, the batsmen dominated the bowlers in most of the encounters hence, as many as 16 batsmen crossed the 400-run mark in this season. In this article, we will have a look at the highest run-scorer of each IPL team in IPL 2019 -

#8 Ajinkya Rahane - Rajasthan Royals

Matches - 14, Runs - 393, Highest Score - 105*, Strike Rate - 137.89

Rajasthan Royals had a season to forget in 2019 as the first ever IPL winners finished at the seventh position in the points table. They were never able to get the momentum on their side which forced the team management to change their captain midway.

Ajinkya Rahane was the initial choice for RR's captaincy but Steve Smith replaced him in the second phase of the league. However, Rahane, the batsman performed well for Royals as he emerged as their highest run-getter of the season.

The fact that he occupied the 19th position in the Orange Cap leaderboard signifies how poorly Rajasthan Royals played this year.

#7 MS Dhoni - Chennai Super Kings

Matches - 15, Runs - 416, Highest Score - 84*, Strike Rate - 134.62

MS Dhoni played the role of a lone warrior for Chennai Super Kings in the batting department. Though the other batsmen of the yellow franchise played some crucial knocks, it was only MS Dhoni who batted with consistency for the south Indian franchise. Defying his age, Dhoni played 15 matches for Chennai and aggregated 416 runs at a stupendous average of 83.20.

However, Dhoni's best efforts could not help his team win the title as they finished as runners-up of season twelve.

Thala Dhoni's highest score of 84 came against Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore but unfortunately, CSK lost that match by 1 run in the final over.

#6 Virat Kohli - Royal Challengers Bangalore

The most unlucky team in the history of Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a disastrous start to their IPL 2019 campaign. They lost all of their first six matches to build a losing streak. Though they snapped the streak in the seventh game, it never seemed like RCB were going to make it to the playoffs.

Former IPL winner, Gautam Gambhir openly criticized Virat Kohli's captaincy and he stated that Rohit and Dhoni are better IPL captains than him.

In spite of Virat's failure as a captain, he continued his fine form with the bat as he scored 464 runs in 14 games at an average of 33.34. He even registered his fifth IPL ton against Kolkata in a league encounter.

Virat Kohli will captain the Indian team at the upcoming ICC World Cup, with the hopes of over 1 billion people relying on him.

#5 Andre Russell - Kolkata Knight Riders

Matches - 14, Runs - 510, Highest Score - 80*, Strike Rate - 204.81

Andre Russell proved to be the muscle of the Kolkata Knight Riders batting department with his power-hitting abilities. The Jamaican was the only player of his franchise to register over 500 runs in the tourney. The fact that Russell always batted in the middle order of Kolkata showcases the value he brought to the team.

He played all the 14 games for his team and hit 510 runs at an average of 56.66. Russell remained not out 4 times in 13 innings. Dre Russ smashed 31 fours and 52 sixes in this season. Also, he had the highest batting strike rate amongst all the batsmen.

His impressive performances in the league helped him gain a spot in the West Indies World Cup squad.

#4 Shikhar Dhawan - Delhi Capitals

Shikhar Dhawan switched teams in the IPL trade window as Sunrisers Hyderabad traded the fearless Indian opener to the Delhi Capitals. The new look Delhi Capitals had quite a season in 2019 as they made it to the playoffs after a long, long time. Shikhar Dhawan came out as the top batsman of his home franchise with a tally of 521 runs in 16 games.

Dhawan has an immense amount of IPL experience having earlier played for the likes of Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, Deccan Chargers and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Being the most experienced player of the squad, the responsibility was on Dhawan's shoulders to deliver the goods in the batting department. With an average of nearly 35 and 5 fifties to his name, Gabbar made sure his former franchise regrets a lot over their decision of releasing him.

#3 Quinton de Kock - Mumbai Indians

Another left-handed opener who switched teams in the IPL trade window, Quinton de Kock was the stand-out performer for his new franchise, Mumbai Indians in IPL 2019. The Proteas wicket-keeper batsman was the cornerstone of the Mumbai batting order this year.

He had been batting really well for South Africa in international cricket and he solidified himself as a match-winner in T20 format once again by playing well in the IPL.

Quinton opened the innings with his skipper, Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians. Opening the innings, he recorded 4 half tons in this IPL and finished the season with an average of 35.26.

#2 KL Rahul - Kings XI Punjab

Matches - 14, Runs - 593, Highest Score - 100*, Strike Rate - 135.38

Karnataka's stylish batsman, KL Rahul once again emerged as the lone bright spot of the Kings XI Punjab side with his flamboyant batting performances. Rahul played 14 matches for Punjab and aggregated 593 runs, a tally which consisted of 1 century and 6 half-centuries.

He had been suffering from poor form before the IPL but he proved everyone why he is one of the best Indian players of the era with his brilliant performances in the league. Rahul had an average of over 50 while playing as an opener for Punjab.

His classy knocks helped him lock his spot in the Indian World Cup squad as well.

The right-handed batsman will be the team's back-up opener, but a lot of fans also back him as a middle order player.

#1 David Warner - Sunrisers Hyderabad

Matches - 12, Runs - 692, Highest Score - 100*, Strike Rate - 143.86

Perhaps, the biggest moment of this year's IPL was the return of Australian opener, David Warner. The former SRH skipper did not play in the previous edition of IPL and hence, the fans were pleased to see him make his much-awaited return in IPL 12. Warner could play only 12 games for Hyderabad but he made sure he outshines every other batsman in the tournament.

Warner scored 692 runs at an average of 69.20 and a strike rate of 140+. The opener's swashbuckling performances helped SRH secure a playoff spot via a higher net run rate.

The Orange Army fans welcomed him with open hands and the same can be expected from the Aussie fans who will see Warner play for the nation in the 2019 World Cup.

This was the second time in his IPL career that Warner won the Orange Cap award. It will be intriguing to see whether he continues to dominate the bowlers at the upcoming mega-event.
