IPL 2023 Auction Player List

The toughest cricket league in the world is all set to reload and make a comeback with its 16th edition to be played in 2023. Although the IPL is still months away, the IPL 2023 auction of the cricketers is set to take place on December 23 in Kochi. The 10 teams have already presented their list of retained and released players for the 2023 season and with it, we have some really strong names lined up in IPL 2023 Auction Player's list to go under the hammer.

IPL is a direct ticket to gain international recognition and most of the cricketers who are in the national side for India emerged from here. We have a huge pool of fresh players ready to make a mark in this season’s IPL with a mix of some veterans of T20 cricket as well. IPL 2023 auction will have 991 players going under the gavel including 714 Indian and 277 overseas players this time around. A maximum of 87 cricketers can be bought in the auction with a squad strength of 25 players for each team. Only 30 players from these 87 can be from overseas, rest 57 need to be Indian. Out of the lot of 714 Indian cricketers, 19 have represented the national team in the past.

While 91 uncapped players have played in the IPL previously as well. Talking about the overseas bunch, 166 have played international cricket, and 20 names belong to Associate nations. A total of 57 Australian players will be taking part in the auction, which is the highest representation by a single country. After Australia, 52 players from South Africa, and 33 from West Indies will have a chance to be picked by the ten franchises this year.

The highest base price in the IPL auction is INR 2 crores. From hard-hitters to wicket-takers to the ones who can do both, all kinds are present under this price tag for the 2023 Auction. Big names like the “Player of the Tournament” of the 2022 ICC T20 World Cup Sam Curran, England all-rounder Ben Stokes, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, and Australian powerhouse Chris Lynn are under the 2 crores rupees category. A total of 21 players have been named in this card with not even a single Indian player included which has happened for the first time in the history of IPL.

IPL Auction 2023 Players with INR 1.5 crore base price

The INR 1.5 crore category has 10 players from Australia, Bangladesh, England, and West Indies in the list of the IPL 2023 Auction. One of the biggest all-rounders in world cricket, former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan is in the list and we can expect franchises to go after him in the auction for the expertise he brings onto the table. Explosive batsmen like Jason Roy, and Dawid Malan from England will also be up for grabs in this price tag. Leg-spinners are one of the most crucial players to have in your lineup and Australian leggie Adam Zampa who already has a 6-wicket haul in the IPL will be available and’ll be under keen observation of all the 10 teams!

In the 1 crore tag, 24 players will go under the hammer to be a part of the 2023 edition of the IPL. Big match winners are in this pool such as Manish Pandey, Martin Guptill, Kedar Jadhav and former Punjab Kings skipper Mayak Agarwal.

All these players have a spark to go all guns blazing when in flow. Following India's tour to New Zealand, teams are aware of how dangerous the Kiwi wicket-keeper batsman Tom Latham can be and he will be a potential target to go at. Afghanistan veteran Mohammad Nabi alongside spin wizard Mujeeb ur Rahman will be in the auction too and they can go for plenty as they can really make it count with their magic with the ball.
