Kerala team win National Blind Cricket Championship 2019

The National Blind Cricket Championship-2019 at Udaipur concluded on Tuesday on ‘International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019’ at Maharana Bhopal College ground, Udaipur, Rajasthan Organised by Narayan Seva Sansthan in Udaipur Final Match Rajasthan v/s Kerala.

Kerala team defeated Rajasthan and captured the championship on International Day of Persons with Disabilities 2019. Rajasthan team gave the Kerala team a target of 163 up on loss of 9 wickets while playing first, to which Kerala team defeated Rajasthan by 10 wickets in 15 overs without losing any wicket.

The tournament happened in T20 format. Manish (96*) of Kerala was declared Man of the Match. He was also declared Man of the Series for best performance in three matches. He scored a total of 234 runs in all three matches. This Tournament was orgnised by Narayan Seva Sansthan where 6 teams from different states like Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and West Bengal participated under the joint auspices of the Cricket Association for Blind in India and the Rajasthan Cricket Association of the Blind.

Prashant Agarwal, President, Narayan Seva Sansthan said, “With an aim to uplift social stature of underprivileged differently-abled, we are providing different platforms to boost not only employment by skilling and educating them, but also trying to woo their confidence by providing them with variety of platforms by organising fashion and talent shows, various sports events, etc. The society needs to be more inclusive towards people suffering from disability and we see this as one way to encourage that."

There were a total of 6 matches in this tournament and the results are as follows-

Rajasthan defeated West Bengal

Gujarat defeated Madhya Pradesh

Rajasthan defeated Goa in the third match

Kerala defeated Madhya Pradesh

West Bengal defeated Goa in the fifth match

Kerala won the last match defeating Rajasthan, who finished as runners-up in the final match.
