Kolkata Knight Riders - Royal Challengers Bangalore Head to Head Records & Stats
As the most awaited cricket extravaganza approaches, it also brings out the fierce rivalries between the teams. One such rivalry that has been there since the first season of the Indian Premier League is between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The two teams will be playing against each other in the 2018 IPL on 8th April at the Eden Gardens.
Both KKR and RCB started their IPL journey on a poor note. While RCB finished seventh in the first edition, KKR finished a place above them on sixth. However, while RCB bounced back to finish as the runners up in the next season, KKR’s performance dropped as they finished last. The two teams have since then seen ups and downs, with RCB coming close to winning the title twice in 2011 and 2016 and, KKR winning the title twice in 2012 and 2014.
KKR and RCB have met each other 20 times in the IPL and once in the T20 Champions League in 2011. Let us have a look at the overall results.

Incidentally, the four bowlers who picked up all the RCB wickets, Umesh Yadav, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Chris Woakes and Colin de Grandhomme, have been bought by RCB during the 2018 IPL auction. However, Coulter-Nile was later replaced by Corey Anderson after the Australian was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.
KKR has an upper hand over RCB at home as well as in Bengaluru. Out of the eight matches played at Eden Gardens, KKR has won five, while at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, they have won five of the nine games played.
