He was appointed as the head coach of Delhi Daredevils for IPL 2018 and was inducted into the ICC Hall of Fame this year as well.

The 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar is the highest run scorer in Tests and ODIs. He has the record of 100 International Centuries in his career. He was the Man of the Tournament of ICC World Cup 2003. He was in the winning squad of 2011 ICC World Cup.

He scored his 100th century against Bangladesh in 2012 Asia Cup. He is the member of Rajya Sabha. He is the owner of Bengaluru Blasters in Premier Badminton League and co-owner of Kerala Blasters in Indian Super League.

He is the fastest batsman to score 8000, 9000, 11,000 and 12,000 runs in Test cricket. He has also scored the joint fastest 10000 runs in Test. He is the highest run-scorer for Sri Lanka in Tests. He scored 12400 runs in Tests with the highest score of 319 against Bangladesh in 2014 at Chittagong.

He also has 292 test wickets to his name.

His highest individual score is 257* against Zimbabwe in 1996 at Sheikhupura which is the highest score by a lower order batsman in Tests. He is the director and bowling coach of Multan Sultans.

He was appointed as the bowling coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad in Indian Premier League and the head coach of V. B. Kanchi Veerans in the Tamil Nadu Premier League.
