Looking at the last 3 Triple centurions in Test cricket 

After almost three years, David Warner became the first batsman to breach the 300-mark milestone in Test cricket. Playing against Pakistan, the left-handed Australian opener completed his maiden triple hundred by smacking a boundary on the first ball of the 120th over.

Warner took mere 389 balls to accomplish this milestone, and he hit 38 fours on his way to 300. This is only the second triple hundred in the history of day-night Tests. The southpaw also broke Don Bradman’s record of the highest individual score at Adelaide Oval. Bradman had scored 299* during a Test match against South Africa in 1932.

Karun Nair (India)

Karun Nair scored 303* against England

The last batsman to score a 300 in Test match cricket was India’s middle-order batsman, Karun Nair. The right-handed batsman had played a marathon knock of 303* runs against England at Chennai in 2016. He became the second Indian batsman after Virender Sehwag to register a Test triple hundred.

Nair had 100-plus partnerships with KL Rahul, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja during his innings. He slammed 32 boundaries and 4 maximums in his 381-ball knock. India declared their innings at 759/7 and later won the Test match by an innings and 75 runs.

Azhar Ali (Pakistan)

Azhar Ali is the first player to score a triple hundred in day-night Test cricket

As mentioned before, David Warner became the second batsman to score 300+ in a day-night Test. The first man to do so was Pakistan's Azhar Ali. He had played a knock of 302 runs versus West Indies at Dubai in October 2016.

Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Pakistan posted a monumental score of 579/3 on the board before declaring the innings. Ali had starred for the home team as he remained unbeaten after facing 469 deliveries and spending 658 minutes in the middle. He hit 23 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. Though Pakistan suffered a collapse in their second innings, they won the Test match by 56 runs, eventually.

Brendon McCullum (New Zealand)

Brendon McCullum smashed the Indian bowlers to all parts

Former Kiwi skipper, Brendon McCullum had played his best innings in Test cricket against India at Wellington. The right-handed batsman scored 302 runs off 559 deliveries in New Zealand's second innings before Zaheer Khan got the better of him. McCullum whacked 32 fours and 4 sixes in his 559-ball knock to ensure that India do not win the match despite taking a lead of 246 runs in the first innings.

He stayed on the pitch for 775 minutes and toiled the likes of Khan, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. The Test ended in a draw and McCullum won the Man of the Match award for his once in a lifetime innings.
