Pakistan had lost a chance to conquer the world when they were defeated by India at WC semifinal an year ago. On the other hand, Sri Lanka almost had an upper hand over India in the recently concluded CB series at Australia, by entering the final. There is no less than a entertainment, when these Asian giants contest in a tournament to choose the best among them. Yes! Asia Cup kicks off from Sunday. Banglandesh, Sri Lanka, Pakistan will be playing to win the Asian Championship, while India will be fighting harder to defend their championship that they won  in 2010 after 15 years. Bangladesh is hosting the Asia Cup for the third time. They hosted the 1988 and 2000 editions.

Pakistan take on Bangladesh on Sunday in 1st match of Asia Cup 2012. Just before touring UAE, Pakistan toured Bangladesh. Bangladesh were merely a minnows against Pakistan. They were handed a lose in every game. But players will be out there in the middle with a positive mindset. The inaugral Bangladesh Premier League was a great success. Bangladesh Cricket had some new overnight stars. With all these, lead players like Mortaza, Shakib, Iqbal will be back in their national outfits. On the other hand, Pakistan are coming from a ODI washout against England. They dominated in the longer format but Cook’s twin century sealed them the series 4-0 in shorter format. Dav Whatmore, the recently appointed Pakistan coach, will look to start his career on a positive note.
