MS Dhoni — A dynamic leader who creates thunderous waves

Well, after losing both the ODIs in a rather disappointing manner contrary to the expectations of millions, the team India is certainly under tremendous pressure.

The simple reason behind this is that it’s very difficult for any team to beat South Africa on their soil. They have got the world’s best bowler Steyn, duly supported by Morkel and Philander. Also, they have got a sound batting line up capable of ripping through the best bowling attack – they have Kallis, Smith, Amla and De Villers.

But then, as long as the vibrant MS Dhoni is leading the Indian squad, every fan is hopeful of a comeback, owing to the tremendous faith in the abilities of our captain fantastic.

So what makes him stand apart? After having a thorough consideration, I was able to highlight a few of the qualities of Mahi. It is really fascinating to recall the last World Cup victory under the superb captaincy of Dhoni. We have already emerged as a strong contender for winning the next one. So what is distinctively different about his leadership?

It takes a hell lot of guts and determination to achieve many victories in a row. Unless a captain displays wisdom, bold attitude, a positive approach and a unique ability to get best out of the squad, it’s really difficult to win matches! I personally adore Dhoni’s fearless and aggressive nature. His self belief and confidence is really par excellence.

Apart from having good communication skill, a captain has to be sharp enough to chalk out strategies to counter the opponent like a true warrior. In order to achieve the desired results, the appropriate risk-taking ability is also needed. A successful captain has got to possess a habit of having patience, especially under tough conditions.

Fortunately, MS Dhoni has got all these necessary ingredients. His ability to rotate the bowlers effectively is perhaps the best seen in the recent times. He is a man of few words and owing to his balanced approach, he is known as captain cool.

Also, a true leader is the one who is able to infuse the fighting spirit by setting examples – such captains very often succeed in bailing out the team! And Mahi has done this time and again.

Incidentally, he is not only one of the best finishers of the world but has also contributed a lot by the way of keeping the wickets effectively. He is achieving one or the other record every day.

Another vital element for a successful skipper is that he is supposed to be adopting a fair approach towards all the team members without being prejudiced. Also, he is supposed to be very firm in implementing the decisions. A good captain needs to be aggressive yet is required to keep calm. Mahi, having all the above qualities, is functioning like a friend, philosopher and guide for the youngsters like Yadav, Bhuvneshwar and Mohammed Shami.

Luckily, our brilliant, committed and contented captain, with his visionary approach, has given us so many thrilling moments and he will continue to delight us with many more memorable innings.
