MSG Club crowned inaugural Wonder Cement #Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav champions

After weeks of action, it all came down to the final day. The Wonder Cement Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav came to a close in Udaipur, bringing an end to a tournament that featured over 400 teams from all across Rajasthan.

The day kicked off with a qualifying tie between Pal Balaji and Hunter Cricket Club, with a spot in the semifinals on the line. Batting first after losing the toss, Hunter Cricket Club amassed a total of 67/4 in their allotted 7 overs. Pal Balaji clinched the win with 6 wickets intact and 4 balls to spare.

Next up was the first semifinal as MSG Club from Bikaner took on Chirawa Cricket Club. In the first innings, Chirawa posted a mammoth 82/2 after scoring 23 runs in the final over. MSG looked down and out at 35/4, but an incredible recovery saw them win with 2 wickets in hand. The end saw dropped catches, missed run outs and close singles as MSG won with 3 balls left.

In the second semifinal, qualifiers from today Pal Balaji faced the Pradhan Cricket Club. Bowling first, Pal Balaji conceded 71 runs in the seven overs, taking 6 wickets. Their batting was not up to the mark as they could only muster 52/3 and lost the game by 19 runs.

The fourth match of the day was the third-place playoff between Chirawa Cricket Club and Pal Balaji. Openers Vikas and Ajay for Chirawa scored half-centuries and carried the bat as their side piled an astonishing 118/0 score. A visibly shaken Pal Balaji side fell 45 runs short of the target, finishing at 73/5.

The penultimate game of the competition was the All Women's clash between Jai Mata Di and Maharani Cricket Club. The former managed to score 40/3 in their allotted 5 overs after losing the toss. However, it was not enough as Maharani Cricket Club chased down the total in 3.2 overs and claimed a 6-wicket win.

As the sun set on the picturesque City of Lakes, it was MSG Club taking on local favourites Pradhan Cricket Club for the inaugural Wonder Cement Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav title. Some last over heroics from the Pradhan Cricket Club side saw them reach a competitive total of 77/5. Despite the daunting target, the side from Bikaner pulled off a sweet victory in the final over, ending the tournament with a six.

And so, MSG Club were crowned the champions in the inaugural Wonder Cement Saath7 Cricket Mahotsav. A fantastic tournament coming to a close in spectacular fashion. All eyes now on 2017 for Season 2!
