Australian cricketer Phillip Hughes has passed away at the young age of 25.

Entire cricketing world mourns Hughes’s tragic loss

Cricket Australia (CA) Chief James Sutherland: “Cricket puts its arms around Phillip Hughes's family.

“Hughesy, Huey or Hugh-dog ... was a hero to kids around the nation. Particularly in his home town of Macksville.

“It was Phillip as a person we will miss most .. he was humble, understated and hard working. He set a wonderful example.

“Our hearts go out to the Hughes family right now. He will be sadly missed ... and always remembered.”

We are devastated by the loss of our much-loved son and brother Phillip," Australian skipper Michael Clarke read on behalf of Hughes’ family. "It has been a very difficult few days. We appreciated all the support we have received from family, friends, players, Cricket Australia and the general public.
Cricket was Phillip's life, and we as a family shared that love of the game with him. We would like to thank all the medical and nursing staff at St Vincent's Hospital and Cricket NSW medical staff for their great efforts with Phillip.We love you."

A minute of silence will be observed by Bangladesh and Zimbabwe players prior to the start of the 4th ODI and will wear black arm bands as a mark of respect to Phillip Hughes at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka, tomorrow.
