Ranji Trophy 2018/19 Round 5 Day 4: Jharkhand clinch thriller, Tamil Nadu registers first win

The final day of matches saw Jharkhand defeated Odisha by just 3 runs at Ranchi. Himachal Pradesh registered their first win of the tournament beating Punjab by an innings. Tamil Nadu defeated Kerala.

In Plate Group, Puducherry defeated Sikkim by an innings and 159 runs. Uttarakhand continued their superb form beating Meghalaya by 8 wickets.

Out of the 17 matches, only 4 ended in a draw. Railways registered 3 points with a first innings lead over Gujarat, Delhi got 3 points against Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra earned 3 points over Mumbai, Goa got 3 points over Services.

Uttarakhand continued their brilliant form in the tournament beating Meghalaya by 8 wickets. Uttarakhand declared innings on the overnight score of 491 for 4. In their second innings, Meghalaya were bowled out for 230 and then chased down the target with 8 wickets to spare.

After the 5th round of matches, Saurashtra is top of Pool A with 19 points, Madhya Pradesh top of Pool B with 18, Rajasthan with 28 points in Pool C and Uttarakhand with 27 points of Plate Group.

The 6th round matches will start from 14th December.
