Stats: Virat Kohli becomes fastest to score 16,000 international runs

Virat Kohli and his recent love for scoring daddy hundreds in Tests continued, with the 29-year-old compiled yet another century in the series, one in each Test of the three-match series.

With Murali Vijay for company (who also scored his second century since making a comeback), the Indian team continued to dominate the visitors, scoring close to 400 runs on the opening day of the game to sit right in the driver’s seat.

Amid Antoine Griezmann’s ‘Hotline Bling’ dance for Vijay’s century celebration, and a few celebratory dabs in between, the Vijay-Kohli stand scored the bulk of the runs, even while the other batsmen failed to make an impact.
