IPL 2024 SRH Squad

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) finished last during the 2023 IPL season. Despite this, they released just six of their players and retained the core group. They went into the IPL 2024 auction with six slots to fill. They snapped up some great buys, including 2023 ODI World Cup winners in Pat Cummins and Travis Head.

SRH had one of the best squads on paper last season. However, they underperformed massively and finished with the table spoon with only four wins in 14 matches.

They invested heavily on Harry Brook and splashed INR 13.25 crore for the Englisman at the 2023 auction. However, Brook failed to impress and was released by the franchise alongside Adil Rashid, Kartik Tyagi and Akeal Hossein.

Bagging the likes of Travis Head and Wanindu Hasaranga at cheap prices were a huge bonus for Hyderabad, they have splurged INR 20.50 for Pat Cummins to make him the costliest player ever in the cash-rich league’s history. They now have one of the most settled sides among all the franchises.

Sunrisers Hyderabad used their purse to great effect and made some whopping purchases in the 2024 auction. They picked up Australian captain Pat Cummins for an exorbitant amount of INR 20.50 crore! IPL 2024 Auction Rules

The 10 franchises would have to follow the following rules formulated for the IPL 2024 auction:

• Each team should spend at least 75% of their entire budget.

• Teams won't be able to use the Right to Match (RTM) card option.

• Each team can have a minimum of 18 players which can go up to no more than 25 in the squad.

• Every team needs to have at least 17 Indian players in their squad which can go up to a maximum of 25 in number.

• Each team can have a minimum of zero overseas players in their squad, which can go up to a maximum of 8 in total.

IPL 2024 Auction SRH's Purse Value

The 2016 IPL champions had the biggest purse of INR 34.00 crore in the 2024 auction. With 6 slots left for the Sunrisers, they went for big players in the auction, and we can say that they have a really strong squad for the upcoming season.

SRH Retained Players List IPL 2024

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained 19 players ahead of the auction. They have trusted the bowling of several quality players and even retained some great overseas talent who has been vital in their IPL journey season after season.
