The lower-order batsmen have always played a key role in helping their sides post a competitive total. Runs down the order are always handy and bowlers should always put a price on their wicket. There are many contemporary bowlers who have shown the right technique, as well as the temperament, and have the caliber to score a Test match hundred. It is always a bonus when a bowler contributes to the team's cause with the bat and vice-versa for the batsmen.

India's swing master Bhuvneshwar Kumar is no mug with the bat. Kumar has a solid defense as well as the required technique to get to triple digits in the longest format of the game. The right-hander knows where his off-stump is and he is a confident batter when it comes to leaving the ball.

In 21 Test matches, Kumar has scored his runs at an average of 22.08. The Uttar Pradesh-based player has a highest score of 63 runs and he has also scored three fifties in the red ball version and one half-century in the ODI format. In fact, the right-hander had brought up his best in testing English conditions at Trent Bridge in 2014. Kumar has thus far amassed 552 runs in the Test format.

Kumar has scored crucial runs for the team in tricky situations and he can definitely get a hundred in the highest form of the game. Kumar might not have the power to hit big sixes but he can definitely work the ball into the gaps to get his runs. The right-hander also has the skills to rotate the strike at regular intervals.

#2. Pat Cummins

Australia speedster Pat Cummins has bailed his team out on numerous occasions with the bat. Cummins has a solid technique and he doesn't throw in the towel even in testing conditions. The Australian pacer is currently at the numero-uno position in the ICC Test bowlers rankings and he has also done a great job with the bat.

The right-hander has scored two half-centuries in the 23 Test matches he has played thus far. Cummins, who can breathe down the opposition batsmen's neck with his express pace, has scored 586 at an average of 19.53. He is a batsmen who puts a price on his wicket and he has the shots in his arsenal to get a Test hundred.

The 26-year old player has scored his runs at a strike rate of 39.54. Cummins' highest score of 63 runs had come against India at Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2018. However, his knock had gone in vain as Australia had lost that match by a gargantuan margin of 137 runs.


#3. Mehedi Hasan

Bangladesh young prodigy Mehedi Hasan has all the ingredients to be a successful Test batsman. The right-handed bowling all-rounder has the skills to get useful runs while batting down the order with the tail. The 21-year old batter has a compact technique and he is definitely Bangladesh's future.

The talented batsman has played 19 Test matches in which he has scored 554 runs at an average of 18.47. The right-hander has scored two fifties in the red ball version and he is looking good for many more. Hasan's best score in the five-day format is 68 runs which he had scored against Zimbabwe in 2018. The off-break bowler had a great match as he scalped eight wickets and scored 95 runs in the match.

Consequently, Hasan has the skills to get to the magical figures in Test match cricket. The right-hander also has a good understanding of the game, which helps him play according to the match situations. Furthermore, the right-hander has one fifty in the 50-overs version and scores his runs at an average of 19.05. Hence, Hasan has the right temperament as well as the repertoire of shots to score a century in the red-ball version of the game.
