TNPL 2016: We were confident of defending even 150, says Tuti Patriots all rounder Aushik Srinivas

Aushik Srinivas of Albert TUTI Patriots addressed the media post his team’s 122-run win over Chepauk Super Gillies in the final of the TN Premier League at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Sunday. Here are excerpts:

What was the batting plan, and how did Kaushik Gandhi, Abinhav Mukund and Dinesh Karthik’s half-centuries affect the game?

Actually, we planned to bat well, this game we played an extra bowler as well. The pressure was on the batsmen to do well and I am glad that they stepped up. Gandhi, Mukund and DK (Karthik) made all the difference for us, it was pretty good.

On Ganesh Moorthi’s hat-trick

He has more of a wider action so the ball tends to come in. He is a genuine spinner and his over sealed the game for us.

On your team’s bowling

Obviously, we were the best bowling unit, and had not conceded more than 144 runs. We bowled well, hit the right areas, and were pretty confident of defending even 150. In fact, 200 was a plus!
