Ravichandran Ashwin is currently the captain of Kings XI Punjab and India's most trusted spinner in the longest format of the game. The 32-year-old off-spinner has been brilliant with the ball and has also been effective with the bat.

Ashwin was roped in by Chennai Super Kings in the inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League due to his all-round exploits for Tamil Nadu in the domestic circuit. Playing for his home franchise Chennai, Ashwin bettered his performance year after year. He shot to prominence when he finished as the highest wicket-taker of the 2010 Champions League Twenty20.

His success and fame at the international level can be attributed to Chennai Super Kings. Murali Vijay, the out-of-favour Indian Test opener was once the perfect player to open the innings for Chennai Super Kings. Chennai Super Kings picked him up for the second edition of Indian Premier League as he had been in extraordinary touch with the bat.

He has plenty of experience and can get the team off to a flier start irrespective of the opposition or bowler. Due to his brilliance in the IPL, he went on to represent the Indian team in all formats of the game.

#3. Mohit Sharma

Mohit Sharma, the 30-year-old medium pacer is simply one of the most underrated death-over specialists in the Indian Premier League. He was bought by Chennai Super Kings for the 2013 IPL season after he scalped 37 wickets from 7 matches in the 2012-13 edition of Ranji Trophy.

His deceptive slower balls and precise yorkers troubled most of the batsmen and he went on to play for India in the World Cup. He is back with CSK for this season after a two-year stint with Kings XI Punjab.
