Top 5 sledging moment in the cricket history

I think sledging should be a part of the game. It makes the game more interesting. Sledging has become a part of world cricket, and almost every team is doing that. Players resort to sledging in order to distract their opponents and not let them focus on the game. Sometimes, sledging and banter sound funny, and are interesting. But at other times, they just turn ugly.

Here are the top 5 sledging moments in the cricket history:

1.Sunil Gavaskar (India) and Viv Richards (WI)

To ease the pressure on himself, Sunil Gavaskar had decided to come lower down the order and bat at No. 4 for that particular match. But Malcolm Marshall fired out Anshuman Gaekwad and Dilip Vengsarkar for ducks, setting the stage for Gavaskar to walk in at 0/2. Viv Richards said: “Man, it don’t matter where you come in to bat, the score is still zero.”

2.Steve Waugh (Australia) and Parthiv Patel (India)

When Steve Waugh came into bat during his last match, Parthiv Patel said: “Come on, just one more of the famous slog-sweeps before you finish.” Waugh replied: “Respect Me. When I made my test debut, you were still in your nappies.”

3.Glenn McGrath (Australia) and Ramnaresh Sarwan (WI)

McGrath to Ramnaresh Sarwan: “So what does Brian Lara’s **** taste like?” Sarwan: “I don’t know. Ask your wife.”

McGrath, losing his cool: “If you ever f***ing mention my wife again, I’ll f***ing rip your f***ing throat out.”

4.Shane Warne and Ian Healy (Australia) and Arjuna Ranatunga (Sri Lanka)

Shane Warne asks the slightly overweight batsman Ranatunga what it would take to tempt him out of his crease. Ian Healy replies: “Put a Mars bar on a good length. That should do it.”

5. Andrew Flintoff and Yuvraj Singh

Who can forget this one. We think that it was Stuart Broad who was responsible for those six sixes in an over, but actually it was Andrew Flintoff.

Andrew Flintoff messed with Yuvraj Singh in a World Cup Match, and he didn’t have to wait too long to pay the price. In the very next over bowled by Stuart Broad, Yuvraj hit six sixes off six balls, and the face of Andrew Flintoff, standing at the boundary told the whole story. In the next over, after conceding one more six and a four, Flintoff did manage to get Yuvraj out, but it was too little too late.
