Warner bowled for one, impresses in field in Canada
Banned Australia batsman David Warner lasted just two balls on his return to cricket at the Global T20 Canada Friday.
Warner was bowled by Lasith Malinga for one during the Winnipeg Hawks' 46-run win over the Montreal Tigers.
A day after Steve Smith – like Warner banned for a year for their roles in the ball-tampering scandal in South Africa in March – made 61 at the Twenty20 tournament, the left-hander was unable to match his former captain.
Warner lasted until just the second over after his team were put in to bat.
The Hawks posted 203-4 before bowling the Tigers out for 157, with Warner playing a crucial role in the field – taking three catches and inflicting a run out.
