World championship 2018 is underway and for the course of a month, every team in the world will try to show that they are the best. We take a look at all the Groups and team that are more likely to qualify from each group.

#1 Group A

One of the more competitive groups of the Championship, Group A packs a punch
One of the more competitive groups of the Championship, Group A packs a punch

* Afreeca Freecs

* Flash Wolves

* G2 Esports

* Phong Vu Buffalo

One of the more competitive groups of the Championship, Group A packs a punch. Afreeca Freecs had a super impressive domestic season in LCK qualifying for Worlds on points.

Kiin is one of the best top laners heading into Worlds. He is super mechanical and extremely good on carry champions. They have veterans in the mid and the jungle in the form of Kuro and Spirit and they are definitely one of the favorites from the group.

Flash Wolves had a great showing at MSI and definitely are looking to redeem their identity as a whole on World Stage.

On previous iterations of Flash Wolves it has been mainly Maple show in the mid lane but after the departure of Karsa Swordart has stepped up to be the main shot caller for the team. Flash Wolves have been dominant in their region and are certainly the group favorites.

G2 Esports had a weak domestic league and had to struggle a bit in Play in. Jankos has been very inconsistent throughout the season and only saving grace has been Perkz in the mid lane.

They can be a threat but they have to play super well if they want to make out of groups. Phong Vu Buffalo is a surprise package from Vietnam. Not many people know about their play style and what they will bring to the table.

However, their top laner Zeros is highly rated and something to look for. Unlike Gigabyte Marines who represented the Vietnam region last year PVB is a more macro reliant team who likes to play more standard rather than having explosive gameplay.

Expected teams to qualify- Flash Wolves, Afreeca Freecs

#2 Group B

Uzi had a dominant year
Uzi had a dominant year

* Cloud 9

* Gen.G

* Team Vitality

* Royal Never Give Up

Definitely, the group of Death with defending Champions Gen.G and tournaments favorites RNG both being in the same group. RNG is coming hot after winning every major trophy of the calendar.

UZI after failing to get success on the international stage for a long period is finally having a year he deserved. RNG like to play through the bot lane and press their advantage. RNG knows in a 5 v5 scenario they will come out on top most of the times and they like to play around it.

Gen.G always perform when it comes to the World Championship and they are expected to do it again, especially when you consider the fact that they had a fantastic Gauntlet run. Crown is still not performing up to the level but you can always expect him to bounce back.

Cuvee was the saving grace during the gauntlet run as he single-handedly carried Gen.G.

Team Vitality and Cloud 9 both have a tough task if they want to qualify from the group. Both the teams like to play an explosive style of game and they would need to be on point if they want to qualify.

Licorice has been super good during the entirety of the domestic season and you can always rely on Jensen. As far Vitality goes they like to play through mid via Jiizuke and his crazy picks. If they want to do good in the group's Vitality needs to enable Jiizuke to carry.

Expected teams to qualify- RNG, GEN.G

#3 Group C

KT Rolster will finally show up on the international stage
KT Rolster will finally show up on the international stage

* Edward Gaming

* KT Rolster

* MAD Team

* Team Liquid

Another strong group with KT Rolster being a cut above all. KT Rolster being the clear favorites in the group are looking to win their first World Championship. They have huge Individual talents in each lane and have one of the best teams on paper.

Unlike many teams which stick to one playstyle, KT Rolster can adapt to any playstyle. Score is one of the most intelligent jungler in the World who brings a vast experience to the team.

His jungle pathing is one of the best and he tracks enemy jungler very well. With players like Mata, Smeb, and Deft on KT Rolster you can expect big things from them.

When it comes to Edward Gaming you think of a team who has been very successful domestically but failed to make any major impact on Worlds stage.

This year EDG isn't coming as the hot favorites from China but this could be a good thing as they can play under less pressure.

Scout has been the main carry for EDG but he had some inconsistent performance during the regular split. Apart from that iboy is a highly mechanical player whereas Meiko has been the calming voice in the bot lane.

Team Liquid has been dominant in the domestic league winning back to back splits. North American teams has been disappointing on the Wolrd stage for a couple of years now never making out of groups except Cloud 9.

Team Liquid plays though Doublelift in most of their matches and it would be interesting to see how they perform against teams which have similar play style.

Mad Team hasn't even been together around for a year, but their strong play and masterful coaching earned them the maximum points in the LMS. Sporting a more mature playstyle, they drive the pace of the game with calculated jungle macro and take advantages early.

Expected teams to qualify- KT Rolster, Edward Gaming

#4 Group D

Fnatic looking to shine
Fnatic looking to shine

* 100 Thieves

* Fnatic

* G-Rex

* Invictus Gaming

One of the weaker groups out of all Fnatic and Invictus Gaming are the clear favorites. Fnatic is coming to Worlds with huge expectations as their mid-laner caps had a fantastic year.

Fnatic also had a very good MSI and honestly, they are the hope of the West. They are performing well across the lanes and are expected to do well in the tournament.

Invictus Gaming has been missing on the international stage for a long time. Every year they come close to qualify but fails to do so in the end.

This year they are coming hot after a dominant regular split. Rookie has won two MVP awards in a year. They have some veteran experience in top lane with former world champion Duke.

G-Rex had a decent performance in Play ins but it would be really hard for both 100 thieves and G-Rex to have a major impact in the group.

Expected teams to qualify- Invictus Gaming, Fnatic
