2018 has been a golden year for gamers, big titles like God of War 4, Red Dead Redemption 2, Battlefield 5, Call of Duty Black Ops 4 were released.
We are almost at the end of the year 2018, so why don't we look at some top games which were released this year. In this article, we cover the top 5 shooter games for PS4 which got released in 2018 and are some of the best games even among their own series.

#Call of Duty Black Ops 4
Call of Duty Black Ops 4 is the 4th installment in the series. This time instead of a story mode the devs have decided to compete in the latest genre of gaming, "The Battle Royale Genre". Black Ops 4 provides a fast-paced shooting experience with better physics and user experience. The game has a lot to it, as it has already managed to seek attention of famous streamers like Summit1G, Shroud, Skadoodle and many other well-known streamers. The game has also taken its turn towards the Esports route as there already have been some big tournaments like the " Code Red Tournament", "Doritos Cup".

In the year 2043, during a covert mission involving a mercenary group, Jessica Mason-Green (Alexa Kahn), a US Army Specialist is presumably killed while her two squad mates, Donnie "Ruin" Walsh (Christian Rummel) and Erin "Battery" Baker (Morla Gorrondona) escape with critical injuries. Two years later, Savannah Mason-Meyer (Evangeline Lilly), a trillionaire researcher and Jessica's sister, recruits ten of the world's most elite soldiers, including Ruin and Battery, for a top-secret project against an unknown threat. Savannah uses a Combat Immersion program to train the Specialists in a virtual simulation, with Sergeant Frank Woods (James C. Burns) acting as their instructor.

While taking a break from training, Ruin discusses with Battery about their survival two years prior, and that he received a warning message from a mysterious individual. At some point, the individual contacts Ruin at his home, tipping him off to an ambush by mercenaries.
Ruin survives the ordeal, and arrives at a warehouse where he confronts the individual, revealed to be Jessica who remained alive and went undercover. It is implied that Savannah intends to eliminate all the Specialists she hired and that she was somehow responsible for the botched mission in 2043.
Intel files unlocked from completing Specialist tutorial missions reveal additional stories. Savannah is revealed to be running Project Blackout, an experiment that is implied to be about resurrection of the dead through unknown means. The project was successful in reviving four subjects, referred to as "archetypes": Viktor Reznov, Alex Mason (Sam Worthington), Frank Woods and Raul Menendez (Kamar de los Reyes); the latter is tasked with overseeing the project alongside Savannah. Jessica, who disapproves of Savannah's actions, was revealed to have been actually shot by Savannah during a heated argument between the two sisters.
Battery is revealed to have been seeing flashes of numbers, an effect of the brainwashing technique that Alex Mason previously experienced during the Cold War, further hinting that the event of the mission in 2043 may not have been real. Woods, who is involved in a relationship with Savannah, is tasked with brainwashing Mason, using the same technique from before, for an unknown purpose.

#Battlefield 5
The Gorgeous yet the most controversial game of 2018. Battlefield 5 has been a hot topic in the online media for past few months due to a trailer having female soldier with a prosthetic arm. Battlefield 5 is one of the best shooter games out till now. Not only it implements the latest use of RTX hardware but it also focuses on the core shooting experience that Battlefield series have provided through years with some improved physics and dynamics.
Battlefield 5 will also join the race of Battle Royal titles next year in the month of March, as it will be releasing its Battle Royal mode named the "Firestorm" which will let 64 players , i.e 16 teams to compete for top place in one of the largest maps of Battlefield yet created in entire battlefield series.

#Far Cry 5
Far Cry 5 took a new turn this year as the game did not take place on any island or some jungle or the Himalayas. This time the game takes place in Hope County, a fictional place based on Montana USA. Trust me after Far Cry 3, this is the best game the series could offer. I personally think that Far Cry 5 is the game to look out for in the series. Though some of you may argue that Far Cry 3 is still the best or some of you may also say that Far Cry 2 was better. Well as I said it is my personal opinion because Far Cry 5 gives players the liberty to explore and have a unique experience which only some open world games give that to players these days.
Its huge and beautiful map will always mesmerize you to explore it more and more. In my gameplay time, almost half of the time was gone in exploring the beautiful world of Far Cry 5 and fighting the never-ending horde of cult stranglers. This game is highly recommended if you love shooting games with an open world and a strong story base.

#Destiny 2
Destiny 2 is an online-only role-playing multiplayer first-person shooter game. Destiny 2 has kept his promise to be a predecessor as its beautiful world and diverse enemy and loot system will make you play it more and more. The game was released on September 6, 2017, and already has a ton of content to dive into. Ever imagined what a mmo game will look when the characters would use guns and flashy main attacks to annihilate a group of enemies, well you don't have to because it is already out there, "Destiny 2".

#Call Of Duty World War 2
Call of Duty games are a long going shooting genre games that we are been playing since childhood. Call of Duty provides some of the best shooting experience with a deep story. Call of Duty World War 2 lives up to its name, the game is set in the world war 2 period and is played with the eyes of Ronald "Red" Daniels. The game's campaign is set in the European theatre and is centered around a squad in the 1st Infantry Division following their battles on the Western Front and set mainly in the historical events of Operation Overlord. After Call of Duty Modern Warfare series, COD world war 2 is the best game which lives up to call of duty name. Its a must play game and you should try it if you haven't.
