Season 8 of Fortnite is here along with a bunch of changes. The introduction of season 7 saw a new snow area in the map and this time around, it's time for a giant volcano. A new water body has also been introduced in the map near the Lazy lagoon area.

Here are the major points going into the new season:

While season 7 saw a snow-covered area, little did we know that Volcanic lava had been cooking up this whole time. The Volcano has now erupted giving birth to several new locations and terrains. These places are currently the hotspot for top loot, so be sure to check it out. Jumping on Lava deals a very little damage over time.

Pirates seem to be the theme for season 8. Lazy Links have been removed and instead Lazy lagoons have been introduced. You can find a ship and new buildings in the area. These contain loot items and chests.

Continuing with the Pirate theme, Canon has been added to the game. You can deploy this to destroy enemy structures or anything in general. You can also climb it and then shoot yourself towards the targeted location. These Canons can be moved around. Overall, it looks like a fun gimmick with a lot of potentials.

A new location Sunny Steps has also been added to map. The area consists of bright colorful pyramids which are filled with loot so be sure to check it out.

A ping system has been added to the game. Similar to Apex Legends, you can hit a button to point out enemy locations, Loot, and other things. This was a much-needed feature and Epic is finally delivering.

Like every season and new, Battle pass is here for season 8. You can get the pass for 950 V-Bucks.
