Survival games like V Rising expect players to progress organically. One of those methods involves gathering low-quality materials that can then be used to collect and craft even better weapons, items, and gear.

Iron Ore, in particular, becomes increasingly useful once copper items start waning in quality. In fact, it is essential to create strong weapons, which players will definitely need if they have any intention of reaching the game's end.

To get Iron Ore, gamers need to locate Iron Veins; however, Iron Ore isn’t as readily available as Copper Ore, which can be found in abundance. Here’s where to get Iron Ore and how to turn it into Iron Ingots in V Rising.

In order to mine Iron Ore in V Rising, you will need a Merciless Copper Mace. However, that’s obtainable via a crafting recipe. They can be dropped from named mobs, but the quickest way is through the Research Table.

  • Step 1: Gather Paper from bandit camps. Drop Paper into the Research Table until the Merciless Copper Mace recipe is learned.
  • Step 2: Defeat Clive the Firestarter to unlock Minor Explosives, then craft them. Use the Blood Altar to track him.
  • Step 3: Use the Blood Altar to track Quincy the Bandit King. He holds the Iron Ingot Recipe.
  • Step 4: Construct a Furnace. Place Iron Ore inside to smelt it into Iron Ingots.

Iron Ore can be found in the wild, golden chests, and defeating enemies. Out of those three, finding it in the wild is the most reliable. In fact, Dunley Farmlands has a prime location: the Haunted Iron Mine. It’s north of Farbane Woods, along the southern coast.

If the name didn’t tip you off, the Haunted Iron Mine is packed with Iron Veins. With your newly crafted Merciless Copper Mace, the iron veins can be destroyed. However, gamers should be cautious as the Haunted Iron Mine is also home to deadly enemies. It’s best to be in your 30s before venturing inside the Iron Mine to collect valuable crafting materials.

But looking on the bright side, the Iron Ore inside will respawn over time, making it a renewable source. It’s worth considering crafting a Vampire Waygate for fast travel, though do keep in mind that materials can’t pass through a waygate in V Rising, but at least it saves some time getting there.
