Indian Team "Hope Alliance" Wins Guns of Challenger Cup #1 SEA

The Indian Team- Hope Alliance won the first Guns Of Boom Challenger Cup for South East Asia held on January 19th. It was an online tournament held by ESL. The squad comprising of players "BLAZE", "Hope", "R 1 C E" and "Yonko" defeated team The Sheild, 3-0 in what could have only been an intense final. With this win they took home 400$ and 100 ranking points while the runners up secured a decent 200$ and 75 ranking points out of the total 1000$ prize pool.

The teams BOSS and KHOF who bowed out in the semifinals will get 100$ and 50 ranking points each. The losers of the quarterfinals which are OMG_ITS_J007, NOOBS DAY, ROCK (INDIAN BULLS) and IND_WOLVES will receive 50$ and 25 ranking points each.

This is the first tournament of the newly included SEA region for the ESL Guns of Boom Esports Season 2. The next five Challenger Cups which will decide who will represent SEA region at the live event are scheduled on 26th January and the 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd of February respectively.

The Indian squad now has a good chance for representing SEA at the live event- The Guns of Boom Pro Series scheduled on April 6th, 2019 somewhere in North America. But for that, they will have to continue this impressive run at the upcoming Challenger Cups being held every Saturday. The team with the most ranking points after completion of the six challenger cups will be selected for this event and will compete against champions from other regions which are Europe, North America and Latin America.

This was the first tournament for the second season of the Guns Of Esports Scene and has a total prize pool of 500,000$. The free to play FPS on mobile had a really good competitive run last year with numerous tournaments. The finals for the previous season were held in Los Angeles during November 2018 and boasted a prize pool of 120,000$. The next LAN event is scheduled at the IEM Expo, Katowice. The Season One Finals champion LAZARUS (former Black Bulls) are the only team to have been selected for this event. The other teams will be given a direct invite. The prize pool and the other invited teams haven't been announced yet.
