Season 9 has started along with the all the major tournaments along the globe. Many teams are showing their potential while some have underperformed. However, three teams across the major regions are having an exceptional split. The teams are Team Liquid from LCS, G2 Esports in LEC and Griffin in LCK. All these teams have been dominating the scene this season and are undefeated this calendar year. The impressive run has however ended for G2 Esports as they dropped their first game against Origen.

G2 Esports who were 9-0 before this match has been crushing the scene this season. The team is stacked with talent with top players in each lane. They have played just about anything and still end up winning every game this season.

The first time the two teams met this season was at the beginning when G2 easily dismantled the Origen line up. Since then both the teams had been doing pretty well with Origen winning their last 4 games.

Everyone predicted that G2 will continue their winning streak but it was not the case.

Erlend "Nukeduck" Våtevik Holm had great performance own his trademark Zed. He managed to get a solo kill against Rasmus "Caps" Winther and was able to put pressure all game long. Alfonso "Mithy" Aguirre Rodríguez and Patrik "Patrik" Jírů also had a strong showing in the bot lane as they managed to outperform the G2 bot lane.

G2 did have a great start to the game as Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski repeated ganks on the top lane bought them a lot of early game pressure. However, Barney "Alphari" Morris managed to stay relevant even when behind which allowed his team to thrive further.

G2 Esports did drop their first game but they are still by far the best team in LEC. As for Origen, they have been impressing a lot as they go on 5 matches win streak.
