No plans from Konami to release special Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Xbox One console

The limited edition MSG 5 PS4 console was revealed last week

Konami has confirmed that it will not be releasing a special Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Xbox One console. So Xbox One fans may be disappointed with the news. The team revealed a sleek Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain limited edition PlayStation 4 console last week, which will be hitting the market sometime this year.

The special edition Metal Gear Solid V PlayStation 4 console is patterned in the same colours as the series protagonist Snake’s bionic arm. It has a beautiful red coloured coat with a thin gold strip and comes with a cool grey DUALSHOCK 4 controller.

After the reveal of the special edition PS4 console, many Xbox fans were hopeful that Konami will be releasing a similar special edition MGS 5 Xbox One console. Sadly senior producer, Ken-ichiro Imaizumi, has confirmed there will be no special MSG 5 Xbox One console. Here is his tweet:

It’s possible that Sony has struck up a deal with Konami to make this special design for the PlayStation 4 console. Microsoft did something similar in releasing the special limited edition Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare Xbox One console last year.

Konami has not revealed a release date or price for this limited edition console yet, but it’s may release around the same time as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It also important to note that the console has only been announced for Japan, so Western countries aren’t likely to get the console, though Konami might change its mind if there is a high enough demand.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is slated to release on September 1st for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One and on September 15th for the PC.
