Eevee and its evolutions
Eevee and its evolutions

Although Galar's Pokedex is less than half of all total Pokemon there are, Pokemon Sword and Shield have brought back Eevee and its evolutions to the Pokedex. You can catch an Eevee in Route 4's wheat fields but you can also get one for free.

Eevee currently has 8 different evolutions as of Generation 8. Here's how you can get all Eevee evolutions in Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Glaceon is the Ice-Type evolution of Eevee. Unlike previous games where you have to find an Ice Rock and level Eevee near it to get Glaceon, you will now need to use the new item Ice Stone to get Glaceon. The Ice Stone was introduced in Pokemon Sword and Shield and here's where you can get it:

#1. Route 9: After you first get the Rotom Water Bike, ride on the water, go to the top right corner of the water body and you'll find a shining hidden item which is an Ice Stone.

#2. Lake of Outrage: You can find all Evolutionary Stones here, including the Ice Stone.

Leafeon

Leafeon is Eevee's Leaf-Type evolution. Just like Glaceon, you no longer require to be near a Moss Rock like you did in previous games. You can evolve Eevee with a Leaf Stone, just like how you evolve Nuzleaf or Gloom. Here's where to find Leaf Stones in Pokemon Sword and Shield:

#1. Turrfield: There are 3 different stones in Turrfield, where the Grass Gym is. Go to the one where there's a man crossing his arms and looking at the stones. On the same path, you'll find a Leaf Stone hidden.

Umbreon, Espeon and Sylveon

With all 3 of these Eevee evolutions, you'll need a high level of friendship with your Eevee. The best way to gain Friendship with your Eevee is to use the new Camping feature in Pokemon Sword and Shield. Here, you can play with your Eevee or cook curries for your Pokemon and you'll raise its friendship level with you.

Alternatively, you can also give Eevee a Soothe Bell while battling and leveling it which will also increase its friendship with you. All 3 of them have different criteria to evolve with a high level of friendship:

Umbreon

The Dark-type Umbreon is simple to get. Have a high level of friendship with your Eevee and level it up at Night-Time. You can change the clock in your Nintendo Switch system instead of waiting in real-time for night to get Umbreon. Eevee should also NOT have a Fairy-Type move in its Move List.

Espeon

The Psychic-Type Espeon can be obtained by having a high level of friendship with your Eevee and by leveling it up during the Day Time. You can change the clock in your Nintendo Switch system instead of waiting in real-time for day to get Espeon. Eevee should also NOT have a Fairy-Type move in its Move List.

Sylveon

Sylveon is the Fairy-Type evolution of Eevee. It can be obtained when Eevee knows a Fairy-Type move and has a high friendship rating with you. Sylveon can be obtained at any point of the day provided Eevee knows a Fairy-Type move. The earliest you can get a Fairy-Type move for Eevee is at Level 15 - Baby Doll Eyes.
