The company behind the PlayerUnknown's Battleground franchise, via Twitter, announced the release date of the PUBG Map Vikendi for the PlayStation 4.

As promised earlier by the developers, the map will make its way to the consoles before the end of January 2019.

Release Date

The brand-new Vikendi snow map would be migrated from the Public Test Servers to the PS4 Live Servers on 22nd January 2019, making it available to everyone who owns a retail copy of PUBG.

This release would come just over a month after the map was made available to the PC players in December 2018.

There is no official word by the PUBG developers on this aspect, though.

Vikendi Details

Vikendi map is a 6 km X 6 km map, sitting in between the smaller sized Sanhok and the bigger Erangel and Miramar maps. This size allows the players to have a balance between the fast-paced action of Sanhok and the tactical gameplay experience seen on the larger maps.

The snow-covered regions of the map record footprints and vehicle tracks, which allows players to track others, leading to an interesting game of cat and mouse during Battle Royale matches.

The map will also feature a new assault rifle and a new vehicle. Furthermore, a new SMG and a new Snow Bike will be launched in the not so distant future.

Alongside PlayStation 4, PUBG is also available for PC and Xbox One while the mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is available for iOS and Android devices.
