Developed by EA Capital Games and EA Mobile, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is a mobile turn-based RPG that was released in the latter half of the year 2015.

The game allows players to collect various characters of the Star Wars universe, create teams with them and compete in turn-based battles against characters of the Star Wars universe at iconic locations.

Galaxy of Heroes offers an expansive array of game modes, allowing the player to ply his trade in various scenarios. Not to forget, the presence of mods allows the players to upgrade the characters of their choosing, ensuring that everyone encounters a customisable experience. The upgrade system present in the game is simple to understand but difficult to master, forcing players to apply strategy and tact to upgrade a character to their fullest potential.

According to IGN, executive producer John Salera said, "We've created a game for Star Wars and RPG fans where you can mix and match your favourite characters from across all the films and TV shows, creating squads with heroes from both the light and dark sides."

"You can strategise on which characters complement each other most, then make your custom teams more powerful with new gear and loot you win from battles, on all the planets and epic locations that you love, anytime, anywhere," he added.

The inclusion of a massive character database is something that the long-standing fans of the Star Wars franchise would find as a welcome addition. However, with the way the game is designed, players opting out of the payment must grind for a huge number of hours to build a decent deck of characters.

The addition of new content by the company behind the franchise on a regular basis ensures that the monotonous behaviour of the game is kept to a minimum. Moreover, Galaxy of Heroes is home to a slew of daily and time-based challenges with exciting rewards, which handsomely compensates the playtime put into the game.

Overall, the game balances the content and the gameplay mechanics perfectly, ensuring both newbies and professional Star Wars gamers would find it engaging enough to spend good amounts of time with the game.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is available for free on both the App Store and the Play Store.
