SPOILERS AHEAD!!

#5. Mountain Pass Scene in "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt":-

"Shit, The mountain pass looks as beautiful as ever."

Few games try to capture our earnest attention since the very beginning. Especially something like an open world game which tends to start slow. Witcher 3 is completely opposite of it.

Even today Witcher 3 is considered one of the best role-playing game ever made and one can't argue with it. What really draws one into this world is the mountain pass scene at the very beginning of the game.

What's even more surprising is this incredible mesmerizing moment is completely optional and many of us might also have missed it on their first playthrough.

As Geralt walks out into the balcony of Kaer Morhen castle, that soothing Kaer Morhen flute music playing in the background sends our senses to sleep as we suddenly witness the most astounding scene of the game, our eyes suddenly wide open.

The mountain pass of Kaer Morhen, which is actually a symbolic representation of how big the scope of this game is. Geralt himself comments that Mountain pass looks as beautiful as ever, meaning that the game is not just big but also beautiful in a way an open world game should be. The incredible draw distance, the visual fediletly of the game which further reflectes that Witcher 3 is truely a next generation title.

#4. Fish chopping scene in "What Remains of Edith Finch":-

The fish chopping is itself quite a bold expression, but what makes it embellish is the bizzare but the most accurate depiction of how a person starts drifiting away from the reality.

In the above picture, the chopping of fish is the work the character is doing in the real world, but the left hand picture is the imaginary kingdom he lives inside his head. As the time move forwards, the picture in the hands completly takes over the real life even that was going on. This was used to illustrate that the person has compeletey moved on from his real life.

This little scene in this little game is so vivid, so powerful, so full of emotions and most importantly the full use of artistic potential one can have to express themselves in a video game. It also led me to thinking, how powerful videogames can be as a medium?

#3.Taking the first steps into the twisted and dark world of Yharnam in "Bloodborne":-

The Hunter's Dream in Bloodborne

This scene in particular doesn't do anything. But the world of Yharnam contains this unsettling aura, one that graps people attention and terrifes them of what's to come in the next street you venture into even though the game is not necessairly a horror game.

Especifically when your character dies for the first time and is teleported to the Hunters Dream- the hub place of the game. The moon shining in the background at its fullest, a small set of stairs leading up to a cottage in the middle of nowhere. This scene is just so beautiful and scary at the same time that the words fall short to desrible the set of vivid emotions that engulfs our soul in that particular time and space.

#2. Arthur Morgan's last ride in Red Dead Redemption 2:-

RDR 2
RDR 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a melancholic adventure from beginning to end. Not that it implies otherwise, we all have had always known the fate of these characters as RDR 2 serves as a prequel to the original game. But Red Dead Redemption 2's biggest achievement is that it draws you into its world, its story and characters even without the element of surprise. We all knew Arthur Morgan was going to die since every trace of him has been extinct from the original RDR.

But what we didn't know is how powerful of a character Arthur was going to be. As of now Arthur Morgan is undoubtedly the most complex, carefully crafted video game protagonist ever made. And hence we come to his final ride.

A scene of similar scope did exist in the original game when John Marston was finally riding his way towards his family, that moment when Jamie Lidell's Compass started to play in the background literally brought tears to the eyes of many and is still something which everybody has a vivid memory of.

In RDR 2 though, Rockstar tried replicating that scene and they succeed heavily. We all knew it was Arthur's last ride, the song "That's the way it is" resonated with it, indicating very well that the end is near. Just like the one in RDR 1, this scene remains as one of the most iconinc, powerful,heart-breaking sequence ever in a video game or a movie.

#1. Rachel burns the entire forest in "Life is Strange:Before the storm":-

Life is Strange
Life is Strange

The unprecedent intensity of this scene can't be understood unless someone has actually paid attention to Rachel's character buildup throughout the game. Some you may replay this scene after finishing the entire game and find this even more enthralling than the first time you experienced. That's because one has already had a taste of what Rachel is by then. She's a fierce young woman, with whom most of us along with Chloe fell in love with till the time credit rolls.

But this scene in particular is clearly the best symbolic representation of how strong and powerful Rachel's soul is. No wonder the fire burnt half the Arcadia Bay, because that's the intensity of emotions Rachel carries inside her.
