Recently I wrote an article on War of Kings to help out the new players with their grinding.
The main problem you face in this MMO is not in the RPG or campaign part but in the multiplayer part.
Now the multiplayer part is divided into two different sectors, One is the clan war where your castle level and troops might mean everything and the other one is the Arena where your heroes are everything.
Honestly, playing Arena also helps the clan war because you receive daily rewards based on your placement in the arena. The higher the rank you achieve the more gold reward and tavern scrolls you receive.
There is not much you can do in the Arena on your own. Upgrade your lord and heroes, the higher the hero and lord level is the more power you have, beat people and climb up the ladder.
The most important thing in the arena is your heroes, their power and where you place them decides if you will win the battle or not. I will reveal the 5 most powerful heroes that you can use in your Arena line-up or use them in the game in general.
#1 Vickery
Vickery is one of the heroes that you get easily in the beginning with a few other heroes. While a few of them are not worth powering up like Lovelock or Aaron, Vickery, however, is one of the best heroes in the game.
She is flexible with positioning. She has a high DPS mechanism, and with her ranged spells, she can sit in the second slot behind any frontline hero. Another amazing thing about Vickery is even though she is an archer type, she has a massive strength gain which makes her viable enough to be in the front line. You can just place your Vickery in the front with Namie behind her, and watch the tanks melt away.
It is very easy to collect Vickery soul stone and upgrade her. Wait for some in-game events, buy rare gems and turn her into rare. And you can do it all very easily. She is one of the best free heroes if not THE BEST.
#2 Namie
Namie is a hero that will be in my top 3 in any given situation. Namie is one of those Glass Canon heroes that you can rely on. She is not viable as a front line hero but you can use her in the middle or in the third spot of any column.
I prefer Namie as the second or third hero in the collum as she should be because she has a huge range.
She melts any tank very easily with meteor burst, and her array of light can hit anywhere in a straight line, this makes her very dangerous because she can be out of enemy's reach yet not too far to hit the enemy.
Dragon Splitter is a very powerful spell as well as it wipes away the army around the targeted enemy.
#3 Galland
Galland is my third favorite free hero and the third favorite in general among all other heroes, there are other tanks in the game but no other tank deals as much damage as Galland.
With a range of a spear, he can not only deal damage to the legion in front but can deal damage across the tiles and hit the second tile as well if the first tile is already empty.
Galland can also tank a lot of damage, this makes him a very trustworthy tank when it comes to aggressive defense, you can line up two DPS heroes behind Galland and almost 90% of the time it is a clear victory for you in the lane unless there is a healer in the opposite enemy column.
#4 Baring
Baring is one of my favorite heroes in the game but it is not free-to-play. Probably why I don't own this hero yet. War of Kings is free-to-play but -pay-2-win game and it's totally understandable why they want to make you pay for Baring.
He is the most damage dealing melee hero in the game who can heal himself and increase his own physical attack damage. His spells are highly damage dealing, and his healing totem just makes him a perfect frontliner.
His spell one summons substitute who attacks two enemy legions randomly at the same time. His spell two allows him to jump into an enemy area and deal damage to the legion who stands in front of him.
His healing totem makes him crazy damage dealing frontliner because of the self-healing ability.
These three spells make him overpowered enough but the developers had something else in their mind, his ultimate increases his physical attack damage, which means all his spells and his normal attacks deal extra damage to enemy legions once his fourth spell is unlocked.
#5 Belle
Honestly, Belle was not my first choice for the fifth place. Originally it was Branik but I will explain why Belle beats Branik and how.
Branik is a legion that deals a massive amount of damage but we already have a few heroes that do that job perfectly, Branik is a very situational pick as well.
You can set Branik as your second Legion in any column while Belle can go with almost any lineup. If you have a DPS lineup especially something like Vickery who can tank a little as well, you can Use belle as the third hero in any column behind them.
It will keep your DPS legions alive, make them tanky, and as a result, you will win the battle. My personal favorite lineup has Vickery, Namie, Galland, Baring, and Branik.
But I will not mind swapping Branik with Belle as Branik can be a situational placement behind Baring but Belle can sit in any lane she wants and you will still win the battle because of her overpowered battle.
For a fact, I am right now in the top 150 in Arena and the only hero that annoys me most or I should say that ruins my battle is Belle.
Another reason why Belle annoys me the most because I prefer to go with a DPS lineup, even my tank is Galland who can deal pretty heavy amount of damage and Belle just makes it impossible for any DPS lineup to win against her, it doesn't matter how much damage you deal, she will heal them up.
