2019 is the year of Capcom, After a fiasco called Resident Evil 6 where Capcom invested a lot of money, they took some time off with AAA titles.

Only releasing smaller budget titles till 2016 until they were ready to show us Resident Evil 7.

With Resident Evil 7 being a huge success and Monster Hunter World in 2018, Capcom went on to make Resident Evil 2 Remake which is also coming early next year which I covered in part 1 of this ongoing series of articles.

Going back to E3 last year, at Microsoft's stage where the legendary Director Hideaki Itsuno made a shocking entrance after announcing that he and his team is back to give us Devil May Cry 5 after 10 long years.

We did get DmC reboot, developed by Ninja Theory back in 2013 which was an amazing game as well but fans of the series have been dying to feel Hideaki's magic once again and so here we are at the end of 2018 with only four months left before release of this iconic long-running action hack and slash game in the series.

DMC 5 is a direct sequel to DMC 4 whose main protagonist was Nero, who also returns to reprise the lead again in this upcoming sequel, along with the series veteran Dante as well as a third and a new character called V. Not much is known about him though.

Chronologically DMC 5 is rumoured to be set after DMC 2 which (SPOILER ALERT) ends with Dante going into hell, as the recent gameplay trailer featuring him seems to indicate that because of his looks and the environment.

Hideaki Itsuno has confirmed that DMC 5 will feature a strong emotional story just like the series has been known for and will move some fans to tears. ( I hope nobody is dying) and will some way conclude the series for now.

As far as I have seen yet, DMC 5 is set in a fictional place inspired by 21st century London(it's not confirmed yet) and its art and level design seems to have been inspired more from 2013's DmC rather than the original series which is not a bad move at all.

From all the gameplay footages revealed at Gamescom this year, DMC 5 combat seems to be the same though more sleek and precise with the addition of some subtle new features such as the Devil Breaker for Nero and a new motorcycle weapon for Dante called Cavaliere.

I can't wait to play DMC 5. You know as I mentioned in the previous article, just like Resident Evil games, Devil May Cry has been a huge part of my childhood as well and I'm glad to see both these series returning early next year.

2019 is going to have a solid start for us gamers for sure.

DMC 5 launches on 8 March for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
