Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands received one last major update before the launch of Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The game is releasing on October 4, so just before that, Ubisoft pushed this new mode into the wildlands of Bolivia.

The new game mode, called Mercenaries, is a PvP or PvE based game where the players have to survive and come back to the extraction point to win the game.

Although this is a new type of game mode comparing with the other type of contents available in the game probably, this is Ubisoft's take to the popular battle royale genre. There will be a total of eight players who will fight for their survival to win the game. First to reach the extraction point and get into the chopper wins the game!

What is this new game mode Mercenaries all about?

If you have the base game, you'll have free access to mercenaries unlike the other DLCs of game. The players will find the option to customize their characters and start the game. In the beginning, the players will be randomly spawned empty-handed into the wildlands of Bolivia. The players will have to activate three transmitters and gather intel to reach the nearest extraction point for the chopper.

However, it is not that easy as it sounds. There will be a total of 8 players who will be trying to get to the chopper. So, players will encounter each other with unlimited respawn ability, as they progress inside the match.

When did this new game mode come?

Although the update has arrived last week, on with the PC server where the players were not able to start the match. But recently the update is finally working smoothly and players can get into the matches without any problem.

On my first impression, the new mode has been designed pretty well, but I think the eight players is too little to fight for extraction.

Or maybe, Ubisoft could have designed the game mode in a team where a team of two would fight for winning. However, overall Ubisoft has done a decent job with this new game mode! So if you own the game, do not hesitate to try this out.
