Overwatch took the world by storm when it was revealed back in 2016. The game managed to put down big titles like DOTA 2, League of Legends and CS-GO etc behind as the most played game. Though this was only for a brief period since all the mentioned games claimed back the top spot and rightfully so.

Despite that Overwatch is still going strong and now has dedicated league but this is not about Overwatch. One of the major reasons people shy away from this game is due to its hefty price(40$ for basic edition and 60$ for the deluxe edition)

There are alternatives for Overwatch and of its biggest competitor has been Paladins which is completely free to play!

Paladins is a combination of MOBA+FPS. Two teams play against each other in the traditional MOBA fashion. However, there is a slight difference instead of fighting for your nexus you have to push the Payload.

Both the teams comprise of five players. There is a point in the middle which you have to capture. You gain one point for capturing the central point. Whichever team captures the point get the access to Payload.

Then they have to push the payload until it reaches the enemy base. You push the payload by simply standing near it. If you manage to push the Payload entirely you get one more point. If you fail to push the payload then the enemy team gets one point. This completes one entire round. Whichever team reaches four points first wins the match.

You have to pick from a wide variety of champions. These champions work in similar fashion to any MOBA. Each champion has unique abilities which work in different situations. There are basically four classes- Healers, Flanks, Tanks, and Damage.

There is much more to the game which you will get to know as you play the game.

Overall the game is a total fun experience. If you ever wanted to try Overwatch but couldn't play it due to its hefty price then give Paladins a try. You can download the game for free from their dedicated website.
