WWE 2K20 Originals: A new take on the usual DLC

Since both WWE games and Downloadable Content have been a thing, the WWE 2K series (and its predecessors) have pretty much had the same format. New wrestlers, new arenas, sometimes even a new Showcase mode here and there. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

WWE 2K20 is set to blow that concept out of the water - or, in this instance, swamp water.

The latest iteration of the wrestling series introduced WWE 2K20 Originals, a brand new take on DLC - and it sounds awesome.

Each Originals pack has a different theme - the first, for example, is entitles "Bump In The Night". The big highlight of the DLC is the addition of Bray Wyatt's "Feind" alter-ego, and that's pretty great in of itself. But, there's so much more to it than that.

First off, 2K is running with the Towers mode they introduced in WWE 2K19, but it's going to a whole new level. Here are the Towers included with "Bump In The Night":

  • “The Fiend” – “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt stars in his own tower
  • “All Fed Up” – “Fed-Up” Sheamus is forced to take on some of his former fellow Superstars, who have all become zombies
  • “Nowhere to Run” – “Twisted” Nikki Cross looks to “play” with other Superstars in her own twisted game
  • “One of the Family” – “The Swampfather” Bray Wyatt decides to bring on one of his past recruits. Can Daniel Bryan avoid becoming one of “The Swampfather’s” thralls?
  • “Nowhere to Hide” – “Survivor” Mandy Rose has had enough of “Twisted” Nikki Cross and her games. She’s going to do what she can to put an end to the madness

Zombies, dude. Zombies.

But, it's not just the Towers in this Originals pack. There are seven new, horror-themed versions of WWE Superstars, such as Finn Balor, Sheamus, and Aleister Black - plus two other wrestlers that have yet to be revealed. Oh. And FrankenStrowman.

The real kicker of the Originals packs are the fact that it not only includes all this original content, but this content is also included in the Creation suites in the game, as well.

There will be three more Originals packs - as least that have been announced - following this one. A purchase of the Deluxe Edition (and other special editions), or a purchase of the "Backstage Pass" will also include all of the Originals packs.

Or... you could pre-order the game, and get Bump In The Night included. Yep. Rather than offer some exclusive character, like they did with Rey Mysterio and Ronda Rousey last year, 2K Games is giving those who purchase the game ahead of time the first Originals pack included with the game.

Check back with us soon, as we've also got an interview with WWE Superstar Braun Strowman about what making of the game was like, the new Originals packs, and much more.
