Formula 1 in 2019 rolls in with new liveries and new regulations

Every new Formula 1 season brings new liveries and this year is no different. After a long hibernation, the winter is almost over as every constructor has revealed their cars for 2019.

While some teams have gone for subtle changes in their colour scheme, others have made bolder strokes on their cars.

No team has yet introduced a radical change and have stuck with their traditional colours maintaining the continuity from previous years.

Which one is the best looking of the grid is a completely subjective question, as everyone would have their own biases and favourites.

Here are the brand new liveries, listed in the order that they were unveiled. Have your own pick.

#1 Haas

The American side was the first one break cover on February 7 at a launch event in London. Haas will compete with a black and gold design that is reminiscent of the classic Lotus cars.

New sponsor Rich Energy is prominently featured, while Haas' logo adorns the side pods and rear wing in white.

#2 Williams

The classic colours of the British side has always been white and blue, from which they deviated to introduce an electric blue hue.

Having lost Martini as a sponsor Rokit comes on board and the change is colour is also a way of shedding the baggage that came with finishing last in 2018. Nothing about the team is the same, hopefully, the performance changes too.

#3 Toro Rosso

The sister team of Red Bull-Toro Rosso boasts of a livery that is a modern classic. Hence it made sense to stick with the colour scheme of blue, silver and red livery, that works so well for them, irrespective of their place on the grid. Compared to Red Bull Honda's presence is more prominent on this livery.

#4 Renault

The French side presented a more evolved version of their 2018 livery with minor changes but keeping the banana yellow and black combination.

Renault has improved every year since their return and hopes to fight for podiums with the RS 19.

#5 Mercedes

The defending champions are aiming for a sixth straight drivers' and constructors' double and the W10 is looking like a mean race winning machine.

The Silver Arrows has now got more silver flourishes with the teal fluorescent colours of Petronas to complement it. An elegant evolution from the previous championship winning years.

#6 Red Bull Racing

Red Bull have always hidden their car under intricate camouflage until the first race, and this year is no different.

They are still keeping the matt finish, but the car looks so good in this iteration that it would not be a bad call to keep the current design for the whole season.

#7 Racing Point

The now Canadian and officially rebranded side launched it livery from the Canadian International AutoShow in Toronto.

Sportpesa is now the main sponsor, along with BWT, JCB and Claro, even as the pink livery has been carried forward with a dash of dark blue replacing the white of last year.

#8 Alfa Romeo

The newly rebranded side, erstwhile known as Sauber gave a one-off livery on February 14 when Kimi Raikkonen drove it around Fiorano as a part of the official filming day. It was themed for Valentine's Day and camouflaged for obvious reasons.

Intricate details of the car are hard to determine, but the real Alfa Romeos will only break cover in Barcelona on the first day of testing.

#9 McLaren

The Woking side unveiled their car on Valentine's Day too and have continued with the colour scheme of papaya orange and vega blue.

They have also nabbed a bunch of new sponsors like Huski Chocolate, British American Tobacco, Estrella Galicia. The beautiful MCL34 livery stands out for sure, but will it jump up the grid?

#10 Ferrari

The vintage, iconic scarlet livery of Ferrari stays, albeit with a darker shade of red and a matt finish.

The red which Ferrari combine with white or black highlights has given way for a darker grey. It still looks bloody good and primed for a title assault.

But remember, championships are not won by liveries, but the what it is hiding underneath.

Note: These are not the final liveries and the designs will be tweaked by the time the season breaks in Melbourne, Australia. The first leg of official testing begins at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from February 18-21 and it resumes for the second leg four days later Febraury 26-March 1.
