As usual, deadline day was full of twists, turns and excitement, with football clubs across Europe going at it all guns blazing to make reinforcements to their squads before the transfer window slammed shut.
While struggling Manchester United made two great additions to their team in the form of Alex Telles from Porto and Edinson Cavani as a free agent, Arsenal also bolstered their ranks by signing Thomas Partey.
Amidst the hurly-burly, you may have missed out on some of the other intriguing moves made during the day. But fear not, we have you covered. Here are some of the other interesting transfers that happened on deadline day. Expectedly, many are season-long loan deals, a transaction preferred by many clubs in these days of financial crisis and uncertainty.
#10 Federico Chiesa (Fiorentina to Juventus)
We start with an enigmatic move. Winger Federico Chiesa is definitely one of the brightest prospects of the Italian game and Juventus picked him up from Fiorentina for a reported €10 million, 2-year loan deal that can become a permanent move in the future after an additional €40 million is paid.
His versatility and ability to play on either wing can be of great value to the fledgeling system that Andrea Pirlo is working on currently.
#9 Matteo Guendouzi (Arsenal to Hertha Berlin)
Once Arsenal's blue-eyed boy in a season of troubles, the midfielder fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta after his frequent flare-ups on the pitch. Arsenal were keen to offload Matteo Guendouzi they found a willing suitor in German club Hertha Berlin, who wanted a midfield option.
Can Guendouzi marry his talent to more maturity and revitalise his career in the Bundesliga? Only time will tell.
#8 Raphinha (Rennes to Leeds United)
Leeds United, under the legendary Marcelo Bielsa, have made a stunning start to the Premier League season after their much-awaited return. There have been goals galore and the attacking football on display has been breathtaking, with Leeds showing they are capable of rubbing shoulders with the big boys with aplomb.
Brazilian winger Raphinha's addition to their attacking arsenal will only help their stock rise. Raphinha, who joined from Ligue 1 side Rennes, was picked up for £17 million on a four-year deal.
#7 Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting (free agent to Bayern Munich)
European champions Bayern Munich have made some interesting moves in the transfer window, and the addition of former PSG forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting is a bit of a shocker. Though the Cameroon international ended the Champions League for PSG on a bit of a high, the club did let go of him.
With Bayern already boasting of a great attacking line-up, Choupo-Moting, who joined on a season-long loan deal, will act as the back-up striker to their star forward Robert Lewandowski.
#6 Bouna Sarr (Marseille to Bayern Munich)
Though Bayern Munich already have Benjamin Pavard in their ranks and Joshua Kimmich is excellent when deployed as a right-back, they have added to their strength in that position by picking up Marseille full-back Bouna Sarr.
The French international is 28 and has put pen to paper on a four-year contract. He adds variety and versatility to an already imposing team.
#5 Matteo Darmian (Parma to Inter)
The former Manchester United defender has been signed by Serie A giants Inter Milan from Parma in an intriguing move. The 30-year joins the Italian outfit on a loan deal with an obligation to buy, as they look to make their defence impregnable in their quest to knock Juve off their perch.
Though Darmian blew hot and cold at Old Trafford, he found regular playing time last season at Parma, appearing in 33 Serie A games.
#4 Danilo Pereira (Porto to PSG)
Portugal international Danilo Pereira has sealed a loan move to Paris Saint-Germain from Porto after impressing last season.
He is a goal-scoring defensive midfielder who found the net 19 times last season for Porto while also getting eight assists. PSG have the provision to buy him permanently next summer and it remains to be seen if the Parisian giants exercise the option to do so.
#3 Facundo Pellistri (Penarol to Manchester United)
Manchester United pursued Jadon Sancho throughout the transfer window, but baulked at his asking price. Instead, the beleaguered club went for youth in their pursuit of a wide player.
The 18-year-old right-winger has been scouted by United for some time and is one of the brightest prospects to emerge from Uruguay in years.
#2 Moise Kean (Everton to PSG)
Moise Kean is only 20 but already has top-level experience in the Premier League as well as the Italian top-flight. Though he only found the net four times in 37 appearances for Everton, Kean is one for the future and PSG, who will continue their pursuit of the UCL this season, have picked him up on a loan deal.
Kean has already won the Serie A with Juventus and has also appeared in the Champions League for them. He is also an Italy international who could still become a key player for club and country in the coming years.
#1 Douglas Costa (Juventus to Bayern Munich)
Brazilian winger Douglas Costa has heaps of experience and returns to familiar territory, rejoining Bayern Munich on loan from another European giant, Juventus. The move makes sense for both clubs, with Pirlo's side having many attackers and Bayern needing reinforcements in wide areas after Ivan Perisic returned to Inter Milan following the expiry of his loan deal.
Costa impressed when he was fit in Turin, but injuries blighted his time in Italy. He will be looking to rediscover his mojo at Munich for the treble winners.
