22nd Kohima Royal Gold Cup to kick-off today

The 22nd edition of Kohima Royal Gold Cup will take place from November 2 to 11, 2013 at the Local Ground, Kohima. The Royal Gold Cup, organized by the Royal Club in Kohima, is the only football tournament in the state of Nagaland to be affiliated to the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and conducted under the aegis of the Nagaland Football Association (NFA).

In total nine clubs – Oil India Limited, NISA-Manipur, Aizawl FC, Kohima Komets, Barak FC, FC Kanglai Manipur, 164 Inf Bn (TA), HQ IGAR, and Dimapur District Football Association.

The winning team will walk home with cash prize of Rs 2,00,000 (2 lakhs), while the runners-up would receive Rs 1,00,000 (1 lakh) with both finalists getting trophies, citations and mementos.

For preliminary round participation teams would receive Rs. 3,000, pre-quarterfinalists Rs. 4,000, quarterfinalists Rs. 6,000 and the semifinalists would receive a sum of Rs. 10,000 for their achievements.
