Chelsea has not been improving after Antonio Conte’s departure. The Blues still struggle in the Premier League and are set to finish outside the top 4. They had also been knocked out from domestic cup competitions such as FA Cup and League Cup.

Now the Europa League could be Maurizio Sarri’s only hope for Champions League football and possibly to secure his job for next season. However, Sarri might not the only one to blame for Chelsea’s inconsistencies. Several big names such as Gonzalo Higuain have been such a disappointment for the Blues this season.

It is understandable that Chelsea have restrictions due to the transfer ban, but the club has a plethora of successful loanees who are ready to come back next season. Hence, offloading some big names to make space for the current young stars or loanees could be the best option for the club to improve.

Here are the 3 high-profile players who Chelsea should consider to dump.

#3 Marcos Alonso

Marcos Alonso is yet to put a string of convincing performances to justify his new contract. He has transformed from one of the best defenders in Europe into Chelsea's deadweight this season. His horror show against Everton in the Blues' latest match only leads to more criticism after he had cost the club a penalty in the 72nd minute.

He has continuously been outpaced by his opponents and looked sluggish at occasions while his productivity has also dropped significantly compared to last season. It is no secret that many Chelsea faithful has believed that Emerson deserves the starting place instead of the Spaniard.

The Brazilian is pretty much ready to become Chelsea regular after a series of excellent performances. As for backup, the Blues will have Ola Aina next season. The English defender has featured prominently for Torino in Serie A.

His goal involvements in the league are nearly similar to Alonso despite playing 538 fewer minutes and could play equally well on both flanks.

#2 Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea's decision to replace Alvaro Morata with Gonzalo Higuain seems to be the biggest joke of the season now. The Argentinian has scored just 3 Premier League goals for Chelsea in 7 appearances. On the other hand, his Spanish counterpart has found the net 3 times with 1 assist in 105 fewer minutes.

Many Chelsea faithful have put high hopes for the former Napoli striker after his arrival to Stamford Bridge months ago. His impressive goalscoring records coupled with years of successful working experiences with Maurizio Sarri in the past led Chelsea to go for him. Unfortunately, he has failed miserably to live up to his expectations so far.

He only scored against Premier League's weakest such as Fulham and Huddersfield. Tammy Abraham will come back to the Bridge next season while the Blues also have other on-loan strikers such as Michy Batshuayi. Hence, sending Higuain back to Juventus could be best for the London outfit.

#1 Pedro Rodriguez

Pedro has been Chelsea’s top goalscorer in the league after Eden Hazard this season, but the Spaniard is perhaps a bit lucky to have such stats because the Blues have no reliable strikers at the moment. Most of his league goals were scored in the early to mid games of this season and, now he has been pretty much struggling to find the net.

The former Barcelona player has just scored twice in his last 13 matches and is often wasteful because of his poor finishing. He is already past his 30, and his Stamford Bridge career will come to an end sooner or later.

Christian Pulisic will play for the club next season while Callum Hudson-Odoi has still waited patiently for his deserved game times. Hence, it would be best for Chelsea to part ways with their €30 million star.
