Manchester United are yet to decide over Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's future. The Norwegian is expected to become the Red Devils' permanent manager, but his future is now presumably uncertain following their recent run of two defeats in a row.

Just a week after United's unlikely comeback against PSG in the Champions League, the English giants have been dumped off the Premier League top 4 by Arsenal and knocked out from the FA Cup by Wolverhampton in the subsequent match.

However, there are still plenty of quality managers out there who United could choose if Solskjaer fails to make the cut (very unlikely). Now let's look at 3 alternative managers who the Red Devils should consider for the Old Trafford job:

#3 Massimiliano Allegri

Allegri has long been linked with Manchester United. He may have taken a slight of fresh air following Juventus's unlikely comeback against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League but, his job is surely still far from safe.

The Old Lady have made a strong intention to win the competition by bringing Cristiano Ronaldo to Turin. However, The Italian manager will have to face high-flying Ajax in the quarterfinals while no one could expect an easy opponent in the subsequent stage. Hence, the Old Trafford move is still pretty much open for the 51-year-old.

Allegri has promised to go abroad after his contract runs out in 2020. He is known as one of the most intelligent and most successful managers in Europe. He had masterminded several comebacks against hefty oppositions in the Champions League including Tottenham Hotspur and recently Atletico.

Looking at his achievements and track records, he would be the definite upgrade for Solskjaer without further explanations.

#2 Nuno Espirito Santo

Nuno was linked with Manchester United in the past when the Red Devils decided to sack Jose Mourinho. The Wolverhampton manager has been such a hit in the Premier League this term, just a season after he guided his team to secure promotion into the English top flight.

Now he has proven his outstanding managerial quality once again by knocking the Red Devils from the FA Cup. Aside from the FA Cup win, the Portuguese manager has led the freshly-promoted Wolverhampton side to an excellent 7th place in the domestic league table and his efforts against the big teams in the division highlight his abilities.

Nuno's strong connection to Portuguese players could benefit United's rising-star Diogo Dalot. He could also serve as a passage for Manchester United high-profile target Ruben Neves to join the Red Devils.

#1 Erik Ten Hag

Ten Hag is on course to become the next big manager in world football. He has made outstanding progress in the Champions League while maintaining a strong position in the Eredivisie. United might have been a bit lucky to have dumped PSG out from Champions League because of 2 silly mistakes from the French giant.

However, Ajax are different as they have shocked the world by totally outclassing reigning Champions Real Madrid in both legs of their tie. Many argue that Madrid has been weakened because of Cristiano Ronaldo's departure but, this might not be the case as the match result was mostly down to Madrid's weak defense and Ajax's impressive attack.

Aside from Ten Hag's magical round of 16 journeys, he led his team to become unbeaten in the group stage consisting of Bayern Munich and Benfica.

He has played a smooth, beautiful-attacking football by making the best out of youngsters such as David Neres, and Frenkie De Jong. Just Imagine what he could do with starlets such as Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Luke Shaw at Manchester United.
