The football season is well underway and we are nearly approaching the January transfer window, where clubs will look to further strengthen their squad in order to make a final push towards glory. As we approach the transfer window, the rumours linking players to various clubs will start to flood the internet. Here, we look at 3 players who are likely to dominate the January transfer rumours.

#3 Erling Braut Haaland (RB Salzburg)

Erling Braut Haaland is the most lethal striker in Europe at the moment. The teenager has been in sensational form this season, scoring an astonishing 39 goals in 24 games across all competitions for club and country. Haaland is the current top goalscorer in the UEFA Champions League having scored 7 goals in 4 appearances in this year's competition. His terrific form has caught the eyes of some of Europe's elite, with Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus interested in signing the deadly marksman.

However, the Red Devils have shown the most interest in the player, and according to some sources, they will make a move for the Norwegian as soon as January. The links to Manchester United come as no surprise as Haaland shares a close relationship with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who handed him his debut during his time at Molde. The transfer rumours have already started to surface and will intensify as we approach the January transfer window.

#2 Christian Eriksen (Tottenham Hotspur)

Christian Eriksen is undoubtedly one of Premier League's best midfielders and has been a pivotal figure in Tottenham's recent success. However, it looks like his time in North London is coming to an end, with the 27-year-old running out of contract next summer. Spurs would be hoping to make a profit from one of their most prized assets by selling him in January rather than letting him leave for free in the summer.

While the Dane was openly flirting with Real Madrid in the summer, there was no significant interest shown by the Spanish giants. Manchester United did make an approach to sign the midfielder during the end of the summer transfer window by failed to get the transfer over the line. They are expected to make another approach for the midfielder in January, with Inter Milan also closely monitoring the situation. Given Eriksen's contract situation, we expect a flurry transfer rumours to flood the internet as soon as the January window approaches.

#1 Jadon Sancho ( Borussia Dortmund):

Jadon Sancho has developed into a potential world-beater in the past couple of years at Borussia Dortmund. The 19-year-old bagged 12 goals and 14 assists in the Bundesliga last season and has scored 3 goals and provided another 5 already this season. His performances on the pitch have caught the eye of some of the elite clubs across Europe. While Manchester United seem the most interested in securing his signature, Liverpool have been recently thrown into the mix. While the youngster was deemed unsellable by Dortmund in the summer, their stance seemed to have softened with credible German outlet Bild reporting that the Black and Yellow will let Sancho leave for around £120 million.

While it seemed impossible Jadon Sancho will leave Dortmund in the January transfer window, recent events have changed that situation. The teenager was dropped from the squad after arriving late from the international break. Furthermore, he was substituted just 36 minutes into the game against Bayern Munich, with manager Lucien Favre later confirming that the winger wasn't injured. These instances will ignite the transfer rumours linking the Englishman during the January transfer window.
