Rumours about Christian Pulisic to Chelsea have gathered momentum. As per reports, The Blues could buy the 20-year-old in this January transfer window.

Now, with him coming into the club, one of the current wingers - Pedro or Willian - would most likely be sold. There were also talks about Willian being sold last summer transfer window, but The Blues had other plans.

It's not just Chelsea interested in the player, Jurgen Klopp is also plotting a move to reunite with the player. The player's contract expires at the end of 2020, and Dortmund tried to open negotiations to tie him down further.

However, it looks like the German club would want to now cash in on him while he is a hot property, and for sure Dortmund would find a lot of clubs interested in the American.

For the sake of this article, lets assume the 20-year-old winger will move to Chelsea, as we look at 3 ways The Blues could line-up should Pulisic move to England.

#1 Hazard, Morata, Pulisic

This will be the most likely position the Dortmund winger would play in should he come to Chelsea. He plays in this position for Dortmund, and is comfortable.

Comparing the current wingers with Pulisic, Pedro has 4 goals and 1 assist to his name, while Willian has 2 goals and 3 assists. The 20-year-old meanwhile has 1 goal and 2 assists in the German league so far this season.

If you judge by the numbers, it does not look like an upgrade to what Chelsea currently have. However, do not forget that the American winger is only 20-years-old, and has his whole future ahead of him.

#2 Pulisic, Willian, Morata

Playing him on the left would not be the best option

Lets make one thing clear, there is no way Pulisic would play on the left unless Hazard is injured, rested, or suspended...or maybe....sold!

Assuming Hazard is rested, Pulisic's natural position is on the right, so playing on the left could be overwhelming for the youngster.

More so as Chelsea dictate their game down the left wing with either of Ross Barkley or Mateo Kovacic in the midfield, and Marcos Alonso in the left back position.

The youngster would have a lot of responsibility on his shoulder should he be played in this position. And for the rumoured price tag of £70 million, the club and fans would want results right from the start.

But if the club is willing to wait and have faith, the player could develop and open up his game with time.

#3 Hazard, Willian, Pulisic

Now, this is one option which Maurizio Sarri has yet to take up. Back in his days with Napoli, the Italian manager used a front three that had no strikers, and he had a lot of success.

However, at Chelsea, either Morata or Oliver Giroud have always started the game. Seldom have we seen Hazard, Willian, and Pedro play together. But it is an option Sarri has, and it could be interesting to see the 20-year-old play through the middle.

His pace combined with that of Hazard and Willian could be a lot for the opposition to handle, and with none of them being a centre forward, they could freely move and interchange at the front, causing headaches for defenders.

Who knows, he could turn out to be the next Lorenzo Insigne for Sarri.
