The Galacticos are dominating Europe and have won the Champions League for the 13th time, making it four in the last five years. On the other hand, their arch-rivals Barcelona were nowhere near their best in Europe and once again came up short in the Champions League this season.

They have failed to go past the quarter-finals in the last three years and were far from convincing. FC Barcelona have significant issues to address, both in midfield and defence. They need to add some quality reinforcements if they are to challenge for their sixth European crown next season.

On that note, let's take a look at the players Barcelona need to sign to regain their European Supremacy

#4 Jorginho

One of Europe's best central midfielders right now
One of Europe's best central midfielders right now

Brazil-born Jorginho has been one of the standout performers in Italy this season and the heartbeat of the Napoli side. The 26-year-old is a deep-lying creative midfielder, who possesses great passing abilities. Jorginho has been on the radar of quite a few Premier League clubs as well.

He can control the tempo of the game and contribute a lot to his team's attacking play. He has made 37 appearances for Napoli in 2017/18 and led them to a second place finish in the Serie A. He scored 3 goals and assisted 4 more this season.

He averages 2 tackles, 97 passes, and 1.5 key passes per game in 2017/18, showing that he can defend and attack. His work-rate is phenomenal, and he has the ability to break down opponents' play.

Though Paulinho is a good midfielder, Barcelona needs someone who can take them to the next level, and Jorginho certainly can do that. He could reduce the workload on Sergio Busquets as well and will cost around £50 million.

#3 David Alaba

The 25-year-old is arguably one of the finest left-backs in the world. He has played more than 300 games for Bayern Munich and scored 26 times and assisted 30 more.

He is comfortable with the ball at his feet, plays well in tight spaces, and also has an excellent passing range. The Austrian international possesses good pace and makes good deliveries into the box.

He has won seven Bundesliga titles and won the Austrian Footballer of the Year on six occasions. With his vast experience, he could definitely be a great asset to the Barcelona side. He definitely will not come cheap.

Alaba's versatility is attracting interest from Barcelona. Primarily a left-back, the Austrian can play on either side of defence and even played as a centre-back when Pep Guardiola was in charge. He could cost them around €100 million.

#2 Christian Eriksen

He could be the next Iniesta

Andres Iniesta's departure has left a huge void in the Barcelona midfield. Only a very few players in the world are capable of playing that role, and Christian Eriksen is certainly one of them.

According to a study by the CIES Football Observatory, the Denmark international is the best attacking midfielder in the Premier League and ranked higher than Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne and Arsenal's Mesut Ozil.

Since his move to Tottenham in 2013, the 26-year-old has gone from strength to strength. He has scored 10 and assisted 10 more in his 37 Premier League appearances this season.

With 2.6 Key Passes per game in Premier League this season, the Dane is a master in exploiting spaces, and his weight on the forward pass is close to perfect on most occasions. He understands the game really well and possesses a great footballing brain. He could definitely make Barcelona great again.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has said: "If PSG paid €222 million for Neymar, Christian Eriksen costs €225 million."

#1 Antoine Griezmann

Griezmann's departure from Atletico Madrid is one of the most dragging transfer sagas of this decade. After a failed move to Manchester United last summer, the Frenchman has been consistently linked with a move to Barcelona.

The 27-year-old's €200 million release clause is reportedly set to come down to €100 million at the end of this season, and top European clubs are ready to pounce on the opportunity.

Griezmann is one of the most consistent forwards in European football for quite some time. Ever since his move to Atletico in 2014, Griezmann has scored at least 25 goals in all of his four previous seasons. He also assisted more than 30 goals during the time frame and played a stellar role in the recent success of Atletico Madrid.

A versatile forward, the French striker can play anywhere across the front line. A technically gifted player, who possesses excellent vision and great finishing abilities. His work rate and clever attacking movement make him a great forward.

After the departure of Neymar to PSG, Barcelona needs a player who can share the goalscoring burden with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, and Griezmann fits the bill perfectly.
